Hi! I’m a native Texan coming all the way from… Garland. With a reading teacher for a mother, I fell in love with acting like different characters in the books I read as a child. As a result, I hold a degree in Theatre from the University of Texas at Arlington. My background in musical theatre has led me to traveling all over the United States, which then gave me a passion for traveling the world.
I’ve recently returned to Texas after spending some time teaching English in South Korea and exploring Asia. (Anyangaseyo!) I enjoy sharing and learning about different cultures, and I really enjoy eating food. Ramen (Shimokitazawa), Dakgalbi (SK), and tabouli (Haifa via NYC) are my favorites so far. I’m still new to Austin, so let me know your favorites here!
I began teaching in the theatre with Dallas Children’s theatre where we focused on imaginative play; practicing our listening skills, identifying emotions, and public speaking. I believe every child has the power, not only be independent, but to change the world when these skills are harnessed.
I really enjoy the community Green Sprout has built, and look forward to building relationships with all of you.
