All Ears!

We're learning about our bodies and our 5 senses. This week it was all about EARS and Hearing! Crystal and I brought together a variety of objects with different noises. I placed a couple of small single round jingle bells in a balloon and then proceeded to blow it up. The effect was a squishy rattle full of bounce that was very much Sprout approved! Rye and Colette especially loved them! We also brought out the 'rainmaker' and gave that a few twirls to allow the babes to listen to the sound of the rain. We also sang many songs, including "Do your ears hang low?"
Our book of the week was 'Toes, Ears & Nose' a cute book that had little hidden surprises. Hank enjoyed opening and closing the flaps during our Circle Time fun. We wanted the babies to not only know where their ears were but to know what they look like! So we posted pictures on the wall of ears of different sorts and Crystal printed some awesome pictures of an ear out for the kiddos to paint on. Little Austin was happy to get his little hands dirty!
Our newest Sprout, Colette celebrated her 1st birthday on thursday September 12th with us! What a milestone! Her parents brought sliced fruit for our friends to enjoy. Towards the end of the day, the Primary Teachers allowed Colette's older sister Adeline and 2 friends to come to the Infant room to have a small impromptu Dance Party. We really enjoyed their company. Colette was all smiles.
So many of our Sprouts were absent, so we ended the week with one last Splash Day before Fall hits. The babes enjoyed being in the cool water under the shade of our awning, hearing the splashes of the water and the joy of their friends.
