Greetings families,
It has been a fabulous week here at the sprout! On Monday the babes had the opportunity to explore some "snow" it was fun to watch them squish it around in their hands. On Wednesday we made Texas snowmen the babes enjoyed helping us pat down the "snowballs" onto the styrofoam plate. On Thursday Ms. Jenn brought in a snowball to share with the class that she saved from our snowday on Tuesday. Each sprout had a chance to explore the ball of ice and we talked about how cold it felt on our hands. In the afternoon we had a playdate with a new friend who will be begin GS fulltime on Monday, her name is Adele. On Friday we spent the day talking about Chinese new year and after second nap the babes colored a picture for CNY! We also made some Chinese lanterns to add to the decor of our potluck, shortly after we headed outdoors to celebrate with the community at our potluck! Have a great weekend! :)

Greetings families,
This week I was subbing for the pre-tots therefore I was only able to be in the infant room on Wednesday and Friday. On Wednesday we went about our usual routine except after lunch we joined the primary class for their weekly Spanish session the babes definitely enjoyed themselves during this time. We ended the day with some super fun and challenging Montessori items. June was instantly interested in figuring out how these items worked, she was extremely focused on placing the green block into the wooden box and then opening the door to retrieve it! Austin was very interested in spinning the green ring on the wooden pole, he managed to lift it up quite a few times! On Friday we read two books before morning nap, the books we read were "Are You My Mother? and "I'm a new big brother" the babes were very relaxed and listened intently while enjoying their bottles. After nap i set up an area in the playground for a lunchtime picnic; the weather was perfect! I sang some fun songs about the weather including Hello, Mr. Sun and What's the weather like today? Once we were all done with lunch, the babes got to explore the playground and even took a couple turns on the large slide, they had such a blast. :) Wishing you a lovely weekend! Greetings families! Hooray for another fun filled week in the infant class! As you know we have been focusing on families this week, we have certainly enjoyed viewing all the lovely photos everyone has brought in to share with us, no worries if you haven't brought any in yet, as we have decided to extend the curriculum for an extra week! We have been talking about all types of families including animals, the babies have had the opportunity to view various animal families as they observed these pics I tried my best to incorporate the sounds these animals make, the babes sure did enjoy this; they would burst out in giggles especially with the photo/sounds of the herd. Throughout the rest of the week the babes painted a family tree, explored some tree pieces (these are special pieces that have been smoothed down especially for our sprouts by a father of a previous sprout student), sang a song titled finger family, it's similar to where is thumbkin but instead we sing daddy finger, daddy finger where are you? (our thumb is daddy, index is mommy, middle finger is brother, ring finger is sister & pinky is baby) here I am, here I am how do you do?! As we go on we add mommy, brother, sister and baby, we read some really great books during our circle time as well! It was a fantastic week; I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday. :) Wishing you a wonderful weekend! <333 Crystal Greetings families, Although we had a short week we certainly enjoyed being back in the classroom with our sprouts, as we missed them SO much! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday/break. On Thursday, we welcomed our new friend Claire to the bunch, she is 9 months and quickly warmed up to the other babes, they had a great time exploring the class altogether. The majority of the day was spent catching up on cuddles, kisses and freeplay. On Friday, we started the morning off with a snack along with some fun morning songs, shortly after we transitioned into a bedtime book and a.m. nap. As the babies woke up we set them up at the table to have lunch, after lunch we stacked blocks, played plenty of instruments & practiced popping bubblewrap, we then headed outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather, it was exciting to meet up with our old friends who have recently moved up to the pretot class! Overall it was a great couple days back. We also got to revisit with an old friend of ours, his name is Guy and he is 11 months old. His playdate back to the class went really well, all the babes sure enjoyed spending the day with him. Have a lovely weekend! :) <333 Crystal |
