Greetings infant families, I hope you had a great week, as we certainly have! Throughout the week the babes have touched, tasted and smelled various pieces of fruit such as, oranges, bananas, apples and even some strawberries from our very own sprout garden! We have incorporated some fun tunes to sing to our friends this week, including: "I like to eat apples and bananas" & "the very hungry caterpillar song." During circle time we read A Very Hungry Caterpillar & My First Words which included plenty pictures of various types of fruit; these books were a hit with the class! We also placed large pieces of fruit onto the floor that we cut out of construction paper, so that our friends could have a few extra visual aids of this week's theme in the class. We planned our circle times each day around this area so that we could point out and describe each piece of fruit to our friends! We absolutely loved creating the earth day project with our friends. It was a lot of fun witnessing each child's reaction to the feel of the paint on their feet. Some friends giggled, other friends squirmed and some friends didn't seem to mind it at all. I would like to say thank you to the families of our older friends that brought fresh fruit for the kiddos to enjoy during our earth day celebration! Wishing you a very peaceful weekend! <3 Crystal

Greetings infant fams,
We had a fabulous week in the infant class! On Monday we started the morning singing some songs about love including "I Love You". In between songs we made sure to practice giving gentle touches, blowing kisses and how to give hugs to our friends. On Tuesday, the older babes pasted bright and colorful hearts to a piece of construction paper using their hands to pat the hearts down and our younger even got a chance to help with some of the patting. They also got a chance to feel the stickiness of the glue stick. It's so much fun exploring these simple items with our friends as everything is new and exciting for them. We ended our day with a book which talked about all of the shapes we have been focusing on for the past month. On Wednesday we welcomed our newest friend to the bunch, her name is Finnlie. She had a lovely first day and adjusted really well to her new surroundings and friends. During circle time I thought it would be fun to incorporate some puppet play while reading books for our friends, everyone seemed to enjoy this as they were full of giggles & smiles! Shortly after we set up a super cute photo shoot with the babes in preparation for our special spring project, they had such a blast with all the fun props we set up for them and I could tell they loved all the extra attention they were receiving. On Thursday we worked on our spring project some more, each friend got the chance to help us add stickers to the craft. On Friday we used a toilet paper roll to add heart shaped stamps to paper it was a ton of fun their little faces were in awe each time they stamped a heart onto the page! *Have a wonderful holiday/weekend!* Greetings infant families, This week was all about triangles! We brought in all sorts of triangle shaped items to share with the class and gave extra attention to the triangle shape in our shape sorter during circle time everyday. I pasted colorful pieces of construction paper onto the floor in the play area for the the babes to explore, I cut out all the shapes that we have talked about during our shapes theme. We ended the week with a super fun art project, our older friends got to paste triangles onto a sheet of paper while our younger friends watched and listened to me sing some songs. Overall it was a good week! Have a great weekend! Greetings infant families, We have had a blast stacking blocks galore with the daisies! On Monday we introduced a whole bunch of square shaped items for our friends to explore. We stacked some collapsible square blocks and sang tunes about the pictures on each block. On Tuesday the babes had the opportunity to explore playing with square objects in various textures such as our green & yellow soft blocks, we talked about the soft texture of these blocks compared to the ones from the day before. On Wednesday the weather was beautiful so we headed out to the deck for some arts & crafts! On Thursday I decided to read to my friends using some of our hand puppets, everyone was very content and focused during this time. On Friday we prepped our pots to plant some veggies. We planted spinach & carrots! Our older friends really enjoyed squishing the soil between their fingers. And our younger friends got to squish a bit with their toes. Our week was another success with the lovely babes! :) |
