Happy Friday Friends! We have come to the end of another fabulous week. Our newest friend Harriet is adjusting quite well, and all of the other babies seem to be very excited to have her in our room, especially our older friends since they have recently become very interested in showing love & giving gentle touches to the younger babes. The theme of the week was sea animals and we had a blast with all of the super fun activities we introduced to the babes. On Monday & Tuesday we had our older friends sit at the table and paste "starfish" onto our homemade aquarium; the younger babes were able to sit closely and observe this activity as well! Wednesday & Thursday we decided to have our circle time in the welcome center, since the school aquarium is located in this area. We used our sight & hearing senses to watch the fish swim and listen to the soothing relaxing sounds of the water in the aquarium. During circle time Ms. Jenn & I took turns imitating fish faces, tossing around an inflatable seahorse and beach ball, we also played a short game of- i spy & pointed out the various colors of the fish; their little faces lit up with excitement as we held them up to get a better view! Shortly after we gathered materials for a great water sensory activity, we filled a basin with lukewarm water and dropped a few sea animal capsules in to watch them expand in the water. The babes became ecstatic watching the animals unravel and extend right before their eyes, they instantly placed their hands in the water to feel for themselves. Towards the end we allowed the babes to splish and splash til their little hearts were content. We ended the week with a fire drill outdoors; the entire school did a great job of getting everyone out in a timely manner. The daisies really enjoyed the ride in the pak n play on our way out. Book of the week: Rainbow Sea Song of the week: Fish in the sea (Sung to the tune of wheels on the bus) The fish in the sea go swim, swim, swim swim, swim, swim, swim, swim, swim The fish in the sea go swim, swim, swim In the deep blue sea. <3 Crystal

Greetings, Infant families! It's been a busy and fun filled week in the classroom. We wrapped up the last of our opposites theme by focusing on day and night. Throughout the week we talked about nocturnal & diurnal animals, we happened to have a few nocturnal puppets and introduced those to the babes! We also talked about the importance of transitions of day and night and the effects it has on many things such as plants, animals etc. We began circle time each day by looking at the moon and stars that are posted up in our naptime area walls, they glow in the dark which made it extra interesting for the babes. Ms. Toni subbed for Ms. Jenn on Tuesday, it was very exciting to spend a full day with her. The babes and I sure enjoyed having her in the class; she is tons of fun to be around. Ms. Toni put on a great show for our friends during circle time and sang many new songs for us! We spent the majority of the week prepping for our very special father's day projects. Painting is always a blast for our friends! *We had plenty of play dates with our primary friends, the babes absolutely love having them come visit! We also took a trip out to the welcome center and had a fantastic circle time on Friday!* Our book of the week was: The Night Night Book. Our songs of the week were: twinkle, twinkle little star, Mr. Sun & owl in the oak tree! (Here are the lyrics to owl in the oak tree) Sung to the tune: “Skip to My Lou” Owl in the oak tree – big and strong. Owl in the oak tree – sings his song. Owl in the oak tree – all night long. “Who, who, who” – come sing along. “Who, who, who” – me and you. “Who, who, who” – what will we do? “Who, who, who” –all night through. Singing our song – who, who, who! (Our older friends loved hooting along during this song!) Have a great weekend and a very happy father's day to all you awesome dads! <3 Crystal Greetings families, Yippee to another fabulous week in the infant room! This week we have focused on all things that go UP & DOWN. Some activities we did that incorporated the theme, were- bouncing balloons & blowing bubbles all the way up to the ceiling and then watched them as they would glide back down to the ground. Throughout the entire week we sang and danced to some fun songs that talk about these particular opposite directions, including "the wheels on the bus & jump up & down" these songs were perfect for this week's curriculum because they required us to use plenty of up and down motions with our entire body. I can tell the babies sure enjoyed the parts in the song when we would lift them way up to the ceiling and then back down to the floor because their little faces sported the biggest smiles ever! Have a wonderful weekend! <3 Crystal Greetings, Infant families! Oh, what a wonderful & busy week we've had in the classroom! This week we welcomed our newest friend to the bunch, her name is Morgan and she is 5 months old. Her transition has been great thus far; we're so excited to have a new friend added to the daisy group. As you know our current curriculum is exploring opposites and this week's focus was, "in" and "out." We set up various activities for the babes to explore. They enjoyed crawling/laying(for the younger babes) inside the large green collapsible tunnel during a game of peek-a-boo! During circle time everyday this week we brought out some very fun Montessori items. Our friends each had a chance to help us place objects "in" the box/containers and take them "out" and repeat the process a few times, Austin seemed proud to be the demonstrator for his younger friends as he completed the task independently. Splash day was very exciting and everyone looked extremely adorable in their swimming attire! Before we headed out we emphasized on the fact that we were "inside" the class, going "outside" to the deck area. Most of the babes enjoyed sitting in the pool splashing the water with their hands and feet, while other friends were not too fond of it but still managed to enjoy their time outside by touching and feeling the scruffy textured turf on the deck. Our song of the week was: Hokey Pokey! We had a blast dancing around and putting on a show for the babes; Their reaction to us dancing was too cute, we had their undivided attention and some friends even burst out into giggles! Have a lovely weekend! <3 Crystal |
