Greetings, infant families! This week we've talked about identifying the many emotions the daisies may experience throughout each day, children experience a wide range of feelings. Sometimes they experience them from hour to hour or even from minute to minute! We had a great time introducing the babes to the activities planned for the week! During our daily circle time we brought visual aids out so that the daisies were able to explore and observe the wide range of facial expressions relating with that emotion such as; Happy, Sad, Anxious, Scared, Angry, and so on. We later created our very own emotions chart and discussed what scenarios could cause our friends to feel this way. We would ask a question and flip the chart to the "face" that corresponds to the question or statement. Another activity we worked on was, creating a birthday card for one of our friends in the pre-tot room! Making a special card for our friend Finn would make him feel happy. Later in the day the primary class shared some yummy watermelon slushies with us, we talked about how this made us feel excited!(only our older friends joined in on the slushes, we were being cautious about our younger friends enjoying this treat.) we ended the week standing in front of the mirror and acting out various facial expressions, this was one of the babes favorite activity of the theme. Overall all it was a lovely week! ***More photos coming soon*** Book of the week: Don't be scared little cub. Songs of the week: Feelings (sung to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.) I have feelings (point to self) So do you (point to child) Let's all sing about a few. I am happy (smile). I am sad (frown). I get scared. (Wrap arms around self and make scared face). I get mad (make a fist and shake it or stomp feet). I am proud of being me (hands on hips, shoulders straight, smile) That's a feeling too, you see. I have feelings You do, too We just sang about a few! Have a wonderful weekend! Love, Crystal

Hello, infant families! **First and foremost I would like to apologize for the delay of the blog, I've unfortunately been experiencing technical difficulties.** This week has been a blast! With the current theme being transportation we decided to "travel" to many places in the school; such as the welcome center, and the outdoor deck. During these "trips" we helped each babe experience various forms of transportation from "flying" in the sky like airplanes & driving around as community helpers in large trucks, to riding along as conductors in trains, just to name a few. ;) We thought it would be fun to incorporate these mini "field trips" into our daily routine, so Ms. Jenn and I set up the lunch table in a new destination! We gathered all the babes and prepped each of them to take a turn hitching a ride to the exciting new lunchtime location, AKA the welcome center. The babes got to ride on the fire engine to the welcome center, all the way to the table we made sure to make the sound of the fire engine siren, the babes found the sounds very entertaining and instantly attempted to mimic us. This activity was a lot of fun, since the babes are not too familiar with this area they certainly enjoyed observing the "new" space and spent a great amount of time gazing intently at all the wonderful art work, & the serene sounds of the aquarium were another great addition to their mini get-a-way! Having lunch in this area turned out to be quite a treat for the babes. Some other activities we introduced were; allowing the babes to utilize their gross motor skills by pushing the various sizes of toy vehicles in the classroom, during circle time Ms. Jenn and I had a lot of fun pretending to be airplanes for the babies; their little faces lit up with excitement at all the movement & whooshing sounds we were making with our body! Overall it was a fantastic week, Songs of the week: (Sung to the tune of, "I'm a little tea pot") I'm a little airplane, I can fly. Here is my throttle, give me a try. When I get all revved up, then I fly. Off the runway and up to the sky. Books of the week: The wheels on the bus Thomas the train & Percy the Helicopter. Love, Crystal Hello, infant families! Oh, what an exciting week we've had! As you know we are continuing our practical life theme, and the topic we have been focusing on for the week is occupations/community helpers, Some community helpers we talked about this week were: doctors, chefs/bakers, firefighters, & police officers have discussed the importance of community helpers and all the community based occupations with the daisies. Throughout the week we set up various activities for the babes to explore. Everyone got to color a picture of a fireman driving his fire engine, we used chunky crayons to color the page; they're perfect for little hands to grasp. We spent some mornings outdoors and introduced the babes to the bright red fire engine on the outdoor deck, during this activity Ms. Jenn & I described the job of a fireman and how important it is to the community; we also talked about the sound the siren on the fire engine makes and we later took turns mimicking the sound with our mouth. Some other activities we worked on during the week were making community helpers out of construction paper and the babes helped us paste the pieces together onto the pictures such as the bakers rolling pin, & cooking utensil, the doctors stethoscope & surgical headlight. As a sensory project we mixed food coloring and water to make ice cubes, we then placed them into a Ziploc bag with a picture of a police badge and let the babes explore the cold sensation of the ice and watch the color start to fill the page as it melted. Book of the week: Little Grown-ups Songs of the week: Pat-a-cake. Old McDonald Have a wonderful weekend! Love, Crystal Hello, Friends! I hope you've had a wonderful week. This week we focused on sharing and helping others. Throughout the week we talked about taking turns with items in the classroom and how important it is to respect Our friends time while playing with a certain toy. Some ways that our friends helped eachother were: our older friends "helped" gently pat our younger friends whenever they became upset; I can tell they really enjoyed this activity as they felt a sense of pride and responsibility. Ms. Jenn & I demonstrated sharing the ball as we rolled and tossed it back and forth to eachother, the babes certainly enjoyed watching us play with the brightly colored beach ball! We ended the week with a dance party a puppet show to celebrate Ms. Jenn's birthday! Overall it was a fantastic week! Song of the week: This is the way we roll the ball Roll the ball Roll the ball This is the way we roll the ball Gently across the floor Book of the week: Sharing is Fun! Have a great weekend!
