Good afternoon, infant families! 


It's been a fantastic week in the daisy room; I can't believe it's Friday already. I almost don't want this week's theme to end, since we've really enjoyed helping the babes explore their sense of sight. Throughout the week we've incorporated many sight games; It's never to early to practice early literacy skills! Many of the games we played involved searching for shapes and patterns. This type of play is especially great for helping the babes develop their memory! 


On Monday we read the first page on our book of the week. We carried out the one page reading throughout the week so that the babes were able to really focus on, searching and discovering the hidden shapes on each page. We ended the day by keeping the room dark after nap, in order to let the babes explore the soft glow & flicker of the candle. 


On Tuesday we packed a basket full of child sized sunglasses and brought it out during circle time for the babes to explore. They each picked up a pair and started to explore them with their mouths; Ms. Jenn & I began to demonstrate how we use/wear sunglasses and explained the importance of wearing them protect our eyes from the sun rays. We ended circle time with reading another page from our book while I wore silly eyeball glasses! 


On Wednesday we created a sensory bag! We filled it with; hair gel, glitter, and squishy, sticky eyeballs of various sizes and colors. The babes loved this activity so much! I always get so excited about introducing them to new sensory activities, they become so fascinated with the experience and it's almost as if you can see the connections their brains are making. 


On Thursday we made a calming bottle. We filled it with water, glitter, and eyeballs. 


On Friday we made one-eyed monsters using pieces of; yarn, paper plates, and of course sticky eyeballs! The babes enjoyed touching/feeling all of the different textures included in this project. We ended the day meeting a new friend for a play date, his name is Parker and he is 9 mons. 
You will get to meet him soon. We're thrilled to have him join the bunch!

Good afternoon, families!


This week was amazing! Ms. Jenn & I were ecstatic to have our class complete with all of our sweet sprouts!


The curriculum was focused on ears! We started the week off by listening to many different genres of music. We made animal ears out of construction paper for the babes to wear and explore! During our daily circle time we introduced the babes to our tibetan singing bowl, the sounds of the bowl were quite relaxing and worked perfectly to grab everyone's attention as needed. The babes were ultra interested in it, we later added some water to the bowl to watch it vibrate. On Thursday we got to celebrate our newest sprout- Orion's birthday! We sang happy birthday and watched him blow out the candle on his yummy cake that his mom brought in to share with the class.

Greetings, infant families!


This week we've focused on discovering the many things we can do with our toes and feet. This has been a great theme for the babies since some of our younger friends have recently found interest in playing with their toes!

On Monday we helped the babies stand on  their feet and squish their toes into some sand we brought in from the outdoor deck. 


On Tuesday Ms. Liz filled in for Jenn we love having her spend the day with us, she has so much love to share with the babies and they adore her! At the end of the day, Ms. Liz and I decided to gather some streamers and use them to tickle the feet of each babe.


On Wednesday we created some artwork using their footprint, we decided to make "little piggies" since during circle time we acted out "piggies at the market" which was a lot of fun they certainly enjoyed us tugging at their tiny toes.


On Thursday considering the events that occurred we weren't able to follow thru with our planned activities so we  kept it a basic routine day for the babes. 


On Friday Ms. Liz subbed in our classroom once again! She introduced us to our newest sprout his name is Orion he is 11 months and he is so sweet, the babes were very interested in him as soon as he entered the room. We spent the majority of the day exploring a super cool sensory bottle filled with red glitter and water; the babes loved this object SO much it was a huge hit throughout the day.

Hello, families!


I hope you've had a wonderful week thus far. As for our week in the "new" classroom it has been quite calm, everyone is taking to their new surroundings really well! I'm so excited that the babies are loving the change of space and the new toys/materials that have been added to the play area. :) 


This week was basically introduction week, so we decided to extend last week's theme- *Hands & Fingers* I would also like to apologize for not posting a blog last week without any notification, after this week we should be back on regular schedule; Yay!


Some activities the babes got to experience last week were: creating art using their hand prints, the part I'm sure the babes enjoyed most from this activity was being able to squish the cold paint in the palm of their hand. We also created a farewell card for Claire! We helped Claire and Austin walk around the circle of friends during circle time so that they could practice giving hugs to each other and the rest of the class, since this was her last week with us. It was a very sweet hug-filled circle time!! 
Some other fun activities they joined in on were: banging on various drums solely using our hands, as I read the book of the week! 

Oh gosh, we squeezed so many activities that require the babes to use their hands into our days and we had an absolute blast with each activity!
