Greetings, infant families!
I'm so excited to share all the fun activities the babes participated in daily! Throughout the week we listened to sounds of various animals who live in a farm; Ms. Jenn & I even pretended to be certain animals and made the sounds they make during circle time, it was too much fun; the babes sure enjoyed it! We created artwork using wine corks, googly eyes, paint and construction paper, our sheep turned out precious. As we blotted and stamped the squishy paint onto the paper we sang; Mary Had A Little Lamb! We ended the week with a fine motor activity. The activity consisted of, the babes "milking" a cow! Oh gosh, we had SO much fun during this activity the babes were absolutely fascinated with the reaction from tugging on the "udder" once we were done "milking" we allowed the babes to splash a bit of the liquid around for even more fun! Song of the week: Old MacDonald Books of the week: Goodnight Farm Barnyard dance Wishing you a fantastic weekend! <3 Crystal

Hello, infant families! This week we talked about our NOSE! Throughout the week during each circle time, we introduced the babes to a new scent. We basically set up a smell station for them to explore. This was such a fun and odoriferous activity! We gathered together some baby food jars and recycled spice jars, stuffed some with a cotton ball that were each lightly sprinkled with a different scent; some scents that we used included: (dry scents) ground cinnamon, garlic powder. (liquid scents) Vinegar, vanilla & peppermint extracts. We only used a few scents so as to not overwhelm their noses, this activity had them very focused for about 10 mins straight! Later in the week Ms. Jenn and I brought out some cute costume accessories; a duck bill and a kitten's nose we talked about The different nose shapes and told stories about what they might smell. We ended the week by looking at pictures of things that have distinctive odors such as; skunks, flowers, and fruit. *We had our new friend Parker join us on Friday! He will be dropping in on Fridays regularly. The babes welcomed him with lots of love on his first day, it was nice watching everyone seem so interested in their new buddy.* Song of the week: Head, shoulders, knees, and toes! Have a wonderful weekend! Love, Crystal |
