Windy Winter

Happy Thursday!  How is everyone enjoying this winter weather?  It sure has been a strange winter season we are having...I am glad to be back in the classroom!  I know, only one day gone, but hey I miss these babes when I'm gone.  We've had a very relaxing and happy day in the infant room.  Finn and Miles have both been their cheery, happy selves.  This morning we lounged around chatting.  Finn and Miles have both been trying to express themselves through babble.  They are getting quite vocal these days.  I'm so curious to see how it will develop over the winter break.  While we were relaxing, our friend Lizzy from the primary room came in for a visit.  Both Miles and Finn seem to be very social, and they really enjoy seeing new smiling faces.  Later this afternoon, our old friend Jackson is going to come in for a visit.  We are really excited to get to spend some time with him and his mom.  Good times.  I hope that everyone is staying warm today.  Also, remember that we are doing Parent's Day's Out next week.  I will be working if any of the infants decide to sign up.

Wintery Wednesday!

Hello Families,

I hope you are enjoying this bit of wintery weather! Our day started off somewhat chilly in the baby room, which gave us the opportunity to talk about winter and bundling up. Everyone looked very cozy in their jackets and shoes! Here are a few things that each of our babies enjoyed today.

Tula--reading books and climbing in and out of different chairs in our classroom. She even buckled herself into one!
Judah--pushing the buttons on a set of "keys", practicing walking, and giving his teachers hugs!
Julia--rockin' out in the exer-saucer, rockin' out while bouncing the pink bouncy chair, and bouncing her younger friends in the bouncy chair.
Miles--laughing and squealing when his teachers made funny sounds, standing up (with a little help) and reaching for objects during tummy time!
Finn--Smiling at his teachers and friends, working on rolling over and tummy time!

As you can see, we are becoming more and more active and expressive. It is exciting for us teachers to watch these babies grow and develop!

Have a lovely evening and enjoy the pictures :)

How's the Weather?

Happy Thursday everyone!  We had a fabulous morning at the Sprout today.  Despite our small group, we always have a great time.  This morning Finn relaxed in a boppy while pulling and pushing rings on the mobile.  Judah grabbed at the foods in the storage holder and we pretended to eat them.  We opened up the windows and talked about the weather.  "How is the weather today?  It is foggy and cold outside."  We read a book about weather and I talked about hot weather and cold weather and the season of winter.  In the afternoon Jackie came in and read books with Finn while Judah and I wandered to the backyard and played in the sandbox.  It was a beautiful day outside.  While outside Judah and I talked about the changing of the leaves on the trees and seasons.  Over the next few weeks we will be talking more about the season of winter and objects and colors associated with winter.

Good Afternoon, Infant Families!

We are having a wonderful day here at the Sprout! All our friends were here today which made for a lively, but still relaxed, room. All our friends are getting more and more active and interactive. Today at lunch Judah was the last one eating, and Tula, who had finished her lunch, took a seat next to Judah and pretended to eat a wooden piece of cheese we have. Judah was happy to have a friend next to him while he finished eating and Tula had a great time visiting with him and munching on her fake cheese. Tula and Judah are walking more and more each day. It's exciting to see them become more confident on their feet!

Julia has become much more social and more active recently. She now pulls up on everything! She had a great time exploring with Judah today. She also enjoyed swinging around a plastic soccer ball in a mesh sack. Miles had a great time in the exer-saucer, as always. He seems to love standing up. He also practiced sitting up while playing with various toys. Now that he is 6 months old he is loving the freedom of holding his own bottle by himself. Finn has been doing a lot of reaching and grabbing! He loves batting the toys on our toy arch!

Have a wonderful day and enjoy the pictures!

Relaxing Tuesday!

Hello everyone,
Today we have a small group of Judah, Finn and Miles. I (Jackie) will be working the morning shift and Sandy will be playing with the little ones this afternoon. This morning we had a lot of fun filled with cuddles, tummy time and Judah walking every were. Miles loves laying under our wooden mobile and is using his fine motor skills to grab the hanging objects and pull them towards them. Miles squeals with excitement during this activity and it is definitely one of his favorites. Finn also worked on his fine motor skills when I gave him a pair of sunglasses. He was able to hold on to the small parts of the glasses and waved them around in the air. I also helped him put them on so he could see the world from a different perspective. Meanwhile, Judah was cruising around the room and dumping things which is one of the most popular things to do amongst 1-2 year old children. He also loves my phone which sometimes makes it hard for me take pictures of him because he wants to be the one holding the phone and in charge :0)I think that Judah is really enjoying being the oldest and is a great leader for the younger two. Have a great day!
