Greetings, families! I hope you've had a great week. We have discussed land/air animals all week, we went ahead and incorporated discussing sea animals as well since that topic was such a hit last week! Throughout the week we listened to audio recordings of seagulls and various sounds we hear at the beach; during this activity all the babes listened intently and looked around eagerly trying find where the sound was coming from. Later in the week we set up a spot in the welcome center for a special circle time. During this circle time we introduced the babes to the beautiful beach diorama that the primary class created! Ms. Jenn & I pointed out all of the elements that we like best whenever we visit the beach. We also talked about the crabs "crawling" along the beachside and seagulls flying around the area. Our friends each got a chance to touch and feel all the items inside of this project; they especially liked feeling the smooth seashells. Shortly after our trip to the welcome center we added some turtles and fish to our class "aquarium" Maya & Maggie(primary friends) joined in on the fun as well and helped the babies paste a few turtles. Overall it was a very fun and productive week! *Songs of the week: Five little seagulls 5 little seagulls sitting on the beach. One walked along the shore, then there were four. 4 little seagulls sitting on the beach. One hid behind a tree, then there were three. 3 little seagulls sitting on the beach. One got up and flew, then there were two. 2 little seagulls sitting on the beach. One went to have some fun, then there was one. 1 little seagull sitting on the beach. She went to chase the sun, then there were none. Sand and Sun (sung to the tune of row, row, row your boat) Beach, beach, sand and sun Playing by the sea. Summertime is just for fun A special time for me. Digging the sand Happy as can be Summertime is just for fun A special time for me. <3 Crystal
