Greetings Families, It's great to be back in the classroom, I missed the sprouts dearly; I received tons of hugs and lovin from each babe! Since I was absent Monday+Tuesday Ms. Jenn filled me in a bit on these days & she even snapped a couple of shots so I could share with you. Monday the majority of the day was spent outdoors visiting with the community. On Tuesday the class got to create an art project using balloons; they had so much fun exploring the texture of the balloon & squishiness of the paint, as the balloon was dipped into the bright red and deep blue colors. This was an excellent gross motor skill activity! Wednesday- As you know our current theme is colors; this week we focused on the colors red & blue. Our activity of the day allowed the babes to utilize their cognitive & gross motor skills. During circle time we placed a red and blue container in front of them, handed them a red/blue object and had them place their object inside the matching container, they all did really well with this activity & most definitely had a blast tossing the balls in! on Thursday I brought in some sensory bottles for the babes to explore they were filled with water, oil & red/blue food coloring.(the bottle tops are glued on to ensure they will not open) We enjoyed this activity in the afternoon before we read some great books that Rye brought in to share with the class. The titles of the books are: Press Here, Pantone Colors & Perfect Square. We read each book and I showed them an item that matched each color that was being presented in the books. Friday- We prepared leaves for our sprouts to place onto our appreciation tree, which will be used as a centerpiece for the friendsgiving dinner next week. During circle time we brought in some hand/tattoo puppets, the kiddos sure enjoyed them we sang some fun songs & went on to read our books of the week; Clifford the Big Red Dog & Color Zoo it was a spectacular week! Wishing you a wonderful weekend full of warmth & coziness! <333 Crystal
