Greetings families,

It has been a very busy and exciting week for the sprouts! On Monday we brought yellow & blue paint into the class to have the babes combine these colors to create the color green. Painting is always a fun activity for the babes as they get to enjoy the fun squishy texture and cold temperature of the paint between their fingers. They seemed very focused as we pointed out the change of the colors on the paper as we added a new color;  this was a very fun activity, shortly after we gathered everyone and prepared to read our book of the week: Green Eggs & Ham for our circle time.

Tuesday- We decorated our stockings to place onto our lovely "fireplace mantel."  We used some cute holiday stickers for our décor these made for much fun and allowed the babes to work on improving their fine motor skills; I even placed a couple onto their hands & had them peel them off, each babe used plenty of concentration on this task. During circle time we brought out a sensory basket for the babes to explore; the basket contained a pineapple, lemon & a lime. We then introduced these new items to each babe, I can tell they really liked the textures of these items as they rolled the lemon and lime & stroked their fingers along the prickly pineapple, I also talked about the colors of these fruits and how each one had very different flavors, we went on to enjoy the rest of our circle time outdoors the weather was great. We ended the day using pieces of the pineapple to paint a printed picture of a pineapple, < (say that 3x's fast LOL) it was a fabulous day!

Wednesday- We began our day by prepping the feet of each sprout to decorate our winter wonderland board that will be placed in the welcome center, take a peek once it's up to get a glance at your little ones adorable foot print! For our activity of the day we printed out some pictures of trees. Ms. Jenn gathered various leaves and some grass in a basket to share with the class, the babes then pasted these items onto the branches of the tree picture. We talked about the change in the color of the leaves and the crisp texture of these items!

Thursday- We were excited to start the décor on our Hanukkah themed poster board the pictures included a menorah, star of David & a dreidel; the crayons that we used for this activity were perfect for little hands! Ms. Jenn and I brought out our dreidel that we have in the classroom and demonstrated how to use this for the babes it was plenty of fun! We read some great books during circle time including  Green Eggs & Ham and Rye also brought a book to share with the class- Where Is the Green Sheep?. We sang some very fun songs including: Days of the week, Twinkle, Twinkle & G-R-E-E-N(sung to the tune of B-I-N-G-O). As our day came to an end we worked on our signs while singing along to a great cd titled signs for little hands, it was a fantastic activity to incorporate even more signs for the sprouts!

Friday- It was pajama day! unfortunately I was absent but  Ms. Jenn managed to take plenty of pics of the adorable sprouts and shared them with me; their jammies were so cute!!! :))

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
