Food: Fruit!

Greetings infant families,

I hope you had a great week, as we certainly have! Throughout the week the babes have touched, tasted and smelled various pieces of fruit such as, oranges, bananas, apples and even some strawberries from our very own sprout garden! We have incorporated some fun tunes to sing to our friends this week, including: "I like to eat apples and bananas" & "the very hungry caterpillar song." During circle time we read A Very Hungry Caterpillar & My First Words  which included plenty pictures of various types of fruit; these books were a hit with the class! We also placed large pieces of fruit onto the floor that we cut out of construction paper, so that our friends could have a few extra visual aids of this week's theme in the class.  We planned our circle times each day around this area so that we could point out and describe each piece of fruit to our friends!

We absolutely loved creating the earth day project with our friends. It was a lot of fun witnessing each child's reaction to the feel of the paint on their feet. Some friends giggled, other friends squirmed and some friends didn't seem to mind it at all.

I would like to say thank you to the families of our older friends that brought fresh fruit for the kiddos to enjoy during our earth day celebration!

Wishing you a very peaceful weekend!
