Hello Infant Families! Today was an exciting day, as our friend Tula turned 1 today. We started the day off with a little party for her. Tula brought in some fun accessories and the babies had a blast trying on sunglasses, necklaces and party hats! A few parents hung out for a while this morning, which is always a fun time! After lunch we brought out a felt board, and Tula, Genevieve, Jackson and Judah had a great time playing with shapes of different colors and putting them on the felt board and then taking them off. We talked about the different shapes and colors that we had available for the children to play with. As I am sure you saw in the newsletter, we are focusing on colors and shapes this month in the infant room. Using a felt board is a fun way to talk about and manipulate shapes and colors with this age group. Although Julia and Miles were not able to stand and manipulate the shapes on the felt board they watched the activities of their friends. Julia spent a lot of time today on her hands and knees, and she is SO close to crawling! She is interacting with the older babies more and more. Miles has been practicing rolling over from his tummy to his back and he is also working on sitting up. It is wonderful to watch the babies in our class learn new things! We hope you all have a wonderful evening! <3 Magdalen
