Practical Life: Transportation!

Hello, infant families!

**First and foremost I would like to apologize for the delay of the blog, I've unfortunately been experiencing technical difficulties.**

This  week has been a blast! With the current theme being transportation we decided to "travel" to many places in the school; such as the welcome center, and the outdoor deck. During these "trips" we helped each babe experience various forms of transportation from "flying" in the sky like airplanes & driving around as community helpers in large trucks, to riding along as conductors in trains, just to name a few. ;)

We thought it would be fun to incorporate these mini "field trips" into our daily routine, so Ms. Jenn and I set up the lunch table in a new destination! We gathered all the babes and prepped each of them to take a turn hitching a ride to the exciting new lunchtime location, AKA the welcome center. The babes got to ride on the fire engine to the welcome center, all the way to the table we made sure to make the sound of the fire engine siren, the babes found the sounds very entertaining and instantly attempted to mimic us. This activity was a lot of fun, since the babes are not too familiar with this area they certainly enjoyed observing the "new" space and spent a great amount of time gazing intently at all the wonderful art work, & the serene sounds of the aquarium were another great addition to their mini get-a-way! Having lunch in this area turned out to be quite a treat for the babes.

Some other activities we introduced were; allowing the babes to utilize their gross motor skills by pushing the various sizes of toy vehicles in the classroom, during circle time Ms. Jenn and I had a lot of fun pretending to be airplanes for the babies; their little faces lit up with excitement at all the movement & whooshing sounds we were making with our body! Overall it was a fantastic week,

Songs of the week:

(Sung to the tune of, "I'm a little tea pot")

I'm a little airplane, I can fly.
Here is my throttle, give me a try.
When I get all revved up, then I fly.
Off the runway and up to the sky.

Books of the week:

The wheels on the bus

Thomas the train & Percy the Helicopter.

Love,
Crystal
