Playing with Puzzles is Perfectly Pleasant

Happy Thursday everyone!  The weekend is almost here.  We are winding down and taking it easy at the sprout today.  So far we have spent our time today sharing, taking turns, and playing guitar.  All of our friends love to hear music, and I enjoy bringing my guitar in when it is nice and calm and playing some soft, gentle tunes for my friends.
We also worked with puzzles today.  We took our time to practice saying puzzle; making sure to pronounce that p, p, p sound clearly.  Our class is getting older, and it's very clear that everyone is learning new sounds.  We are practicing saying these sounds and exploring how our tongue works.  It's really helpful to repeat the first letter over and over when teaching your infant new words.  You can also encourage them to touch your mouth when you say words to help them grasp the idea of what they should be doing with their mouth.
Although all of our friends are similar in age, we learn things at different paces.  While some of our friends are working on crawling others are working on walking.  While some of our friends are working on sharing, others are working on gentle touches.  We all have a lot to learn in here and it's valuable to watch others doing something we don't know yet.
A few announcements: if you haven't brought in a photo of your child yet please do.  It is helpful for your child to be able to see a familiar face on the wall of their classroom.  This helps tie the home/school life together.  We also want to encourage everyone to bring in family photos to put up.  If you haven't noticed, we still have a few empty photo frames on our wall that need filling. :)  Lastly, Sandy and Dom (toddler teacher) are hosing a parents night out on Saturday.  If you have any interest/ questions feel free to ask.
XOXO
Sandy
