Greetings infant families, All of this wacky weather the past couple of weeks was perfect for our weather theme from extreme cold, windy, rainy weekdays and cool, sunny weekends. Oh, Texas weather is so unpredictable! Lol *Everyday of this week we have been singing you are my sunshine & Mr. Sun. Throughout our entire weather theme we have incorporated a fun song titled- What's the weather like today?(sung to the tune of London bridges) If you're interested in the lyrics let me know and I will be more than happy to share them with you!* It has been a fabulous week! On Tuesday we headed out to the deck to soak up the sun! While outdoors we talked about the importance of the sun to the earth and how our sun is a magnificent, life-giving force. We also talked about how the sun supplies us with heat and light. On Wednesday we could not wait to go outdoors to the deck again, as soon as we mentioned outside to the babes their little faces lit up with excitement! As soon as we got everyone settled and all comfy on the deck we began to sing our circle time songs for the week: "You are my sunshine & Mr. Sun" these songs are super fun and very entertaining for the babes as we use big hand gestures to keep them focused and interested throughout the full circle time. Today the babes had the opportunity to explore sunglasses, I'm sure this was fun for each of them as they got to experience a different view of the day thru the lenses, it also made for a great sensory activity. On Thursday we started working on a project that incorporates the sun & the clouds for our weekly theme. We focused on pasting the "clouds" first and decided to complete the project on the following day. Each of the babes had a turn exploring the soft and puffy texture of the cotton balls aka clouds, and surprisingly no one tried to eat them! Lol. We ended the day with a playdate/visit from a new friend who will be joining us very soon, his name is Fisher! He will be in the class part-time (Mon,Wed,Fri) we can't wait to have him join the group! On Friday we used some toilet paper rolls that were used to help paint and complete our project, Ms. Jenn & I cut some slits into the ends of the TP rolls this helped them take a similar shape to the sun, then the babes were able to help us dip the TP rolls into some paint and stamp a "sun" onto their page. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! <3 Crystal
