Our program at Green Sprout Preschool provides students with active, hands-on experiences to provide preschool children with the most meaningful learning. Children begin by first developing a foundation of knowledge and skills. From this point on, children are encouraged to expand their knowledge through further exploration, ask and answer questions, practice problem-solving techniques, and then apply what they have learned to the real world.
The milestones of physical development are usually broken down into two major components—gross motor and fine motor. Three periods of outdoor playtime, both structured and free-play, are offered each day that allow our students to exercise their gross motor skills. In-class activities, such as Montessori work time, arts and crafts, dramatic play, and project-based learning offer many opportunities for students to practice their fine motor skills. All children develop at their own unique rate and it is our mission to provide an environment that positively challenges and supports their individual needs.
