Glitter Rain

Happy Tuesday!

Today we talked more about weather. During circle time we talked about rainy weather; what it sounds like, what color it is, and how it is similar to water. We read the book, “Seasons,” and talked about the season Spring. I also brought out a rain stick so that we could listen to the rain sounds. We discussed slow, steady rain, and also quick, heavy rain. Everyone got a chance to turn over the rain stick.

For our activity we made glitter rain in water bottles. First everyone got a chance to check out their empty water bottle. Then we added some loose glitter, food coloring, colored glass, and stickers. Each bottle contained different color water. Everyone had a good time creating and exploring their glitter rain water bottles. Later in the day after nap, we put our bottles in the window and watched the sun shine through them. Tiny pieces of glitter reflected in their curious eyes.

In the afternoon we had yoga with Abbey and learned a few new songs. She also passed out animals and we worked on our animal poses.
