Bottles, Books and Raindrops...

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a great day and a safe drive home! It was another wet Wednesday here at the Sprout! We started off the morning with some free play indoors. The children had a great time playing with the sensory bottles that they made yesterday. They named the different colors and shook the bottles as hard as they could so the glitter and jewels would float around in the bottles. We also read many books, including one about the colors that are deep under the sea. We talked about dolphins, octopus, and colorful fish. It's so much fun to build on what we already know about animals and colors and to put them together!

After snack I had to leave the pre-tot room to go help out in the baby room for the rest of the day, so I don't have too much to write. However, I talked to Ashley and she said that the kids had a great time using their fingers to paint raindrops over umbrellas that the teachers made on their papers. Sarah was in the pre-tot room helping Ashley for the rest of the day and I hear that it went well! I missed everyone a lot and I can't wait to be back with the children on Friday!

I have also included some pictures from last Friday of the children mixing blue and red paint together to make purple eggplants. This was a wonderful sensory activity as well as a fun way to learn about colors and how they mix. Everyone loved mixing the paint, and we even had a couple of children who wanted more and more paint even after everyone else was done.

Have a wonderful evening!

Haha! I love all their little concentration faces while they paint! Great job taking a series of photos showing the process each of them took to color their eggplant. <3
