Clara's Last Day

2/12/2013

Happy Tuesday pre-tot fams!

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful week thus far.  Today was Clara’s last day at Green Sprout.  We all made sure to give her lots of love today.  We even spent our activity time working on a class project dedicated to Clara.  Everyone took turns placing their hand in different colors of paint and creating a hand-print on a card for Clara… even Clara J.  We hope that Clara has a great transition on her new journey and that she stops by to visit us!

In the morning we wandered into the toddler room to have a dance party.  Our friends were showing off their fancy dance moooooves.  We gave them some tambourines and let them shake their little hearts out.  It was a good ole time!

In addition, we also had yoga today with Miss Abbey.  All of our friends are getting better at recognizing their body parts and using them in different activities.  For instance, in one of the Yoga songs Miss Abbey asks everyone to put their hands over their head.  All of our friends are now able to do this when asked.  They are also getting better at performing downward dog.  Before Abbey arrived I told everyone that she was coming and asked them if they wanted to practice their yoga poses.  They were really happy to show off their skills.

In other news, our Circle Time is going wonderfully.  Our friends really look forward to singing the clean up song when it is time to get ready for circle time.  They also enjoy passing out the mats and picking them up when we are done.  It’s such a reward to see them doing these little tasks quicker and more efficient than last week.  They are very intelligent and it’s always nice to see them feel proud when they accomplish something on their own.

Xoxo
