This morning we played outside in the chilly weather until it was time to go to inside for snack. We did calendar and looked at the betta fish that is the toddler room’s class pet. We each fed the fish a pellet of food and accidently spilled the entire food container all over the room, which is okay. We quickly left for the deck so one of us could clean up the mess, and circle time continued out there, where we looked at books and picture of fish. We also talked about ducks, and Noah was very proud to announce “quack, quack!” when he saw the duck picture.

After circle time Olive sat in a red chair, Clara looked at a book and the duck pictures with Noah, who kept saying, “duck! Quack! Quack!”Gage put a blue bucket on his head and said “ahhhh.” Genevieve played with a toy tractor. Ancel explored the deck and checked out a hose, and Sophie looked at the fish flash card.

Later, Olive pushed around a chair, Sophie organized the water bottles, Clara played with the bead rollercoaster, Genevieve played with a scrub brush and bucket, and Gage threw around some tennis balls. Ancel rode the eggplant and pushed Noah around on a bike.

Our friends eventually started pulling dirt out of a planter on the deck, so we borrowed hand brushes and dustpans from the primary class and we all shared them and cleaned up the mess together. J We also sang songs on the deck before going in for lunch.

After nap we played with the felt board and Arielle used it to tell a story about a turtle who was very hungry for watermelon and pumpkin (we had limited felt story pieces.) Our friends also helped us put away nap maps. We sang more songs as we cleaned up, and went to the deck before Leona, our wonderful Spanish teacher, arrived! After Spanish we plan to do some painting with water colors outside.
