Fun fun fun Friday!

Sorry to post this entry so late in the day (well, it's night now) but my laptop (the one we show the slideshow photos on) was having some difficulty connecting to the internet after work, so I had to take it home and blog here. Thanks for understanding and I'm sorry I tend to have so many technical difficulties! Some day I'll be up to date with my devices. :)

We hope you guys like the new room setup! Last night we worked hard on it and are excited to present the tots with new toys that are a little more grown up (our little sprouts are getting so big!) We brought in a new rug for circle time, a rocking horse (they love to ride the bikes on the deck), a building center, two recliner-style chairs, a music center, stacking blocks, a science center, and a few dress up items (beaded necklaces and sunglasses.) We also moved furniture around and made the room more opened-up, which feels great.

I, Arielle, had Cate (an amazing sub who we love so much) cover for me in the morning since I went out to a friend’s benefit last night (she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.) When I arrived at work during nap, Cherokee left for the day to go to a doctor’s appointment, and Cate continued to sub for her.

I heard that this morning was great (except for the fact that Wynn is absent. We miss him!) The room was so exciting for the tots that they spent most of the morning playing in here, and then went out to the deck (we can’t wait to change it up out there!) Hunter tried on necklaces and sunglasses. Ancel rode the rocking horse and wore some cool shades. Noah worked in the building center. Gage rocked out with some maracas. Clara relaxed in one of our new red chairs and also rode the rocking horse. Olive played with the saxophone. Sophie played with the sunglasses.

This afternoon we continued to enjoy the updated room and new toys. When we were eating snack Jackie from the toddler room came to visit us with her guitar and played some fun song for us and sang (wheels on the bus, itsy bitsy spider, head shoulders knees and toes.) Then we continued playing in the classroom and enjoyed the company of Genevieve and Jackson, who are currently infant room students but will be transitioning into our classroom around January. Their teacher, Magdalen, joined them, and we had lots of fun hanging out with them. Clara, Ancel, and Gage were very happy to see their old classmates. Sophie, Noah, Olive, and Hunter were quick to get to know them and thought it was super cool having them come visit us.

Sorry the blog is a little short today, since I wasn’t around in the morning. Thank you for your understanding. Have a great weekend!
