Hello sunshine!

Hooray for sunshine! We spent all morning outside today because we had spent two days cooped up in the classroom. The kids absolutely loved being back on the playground. We had morning snack out there.

Cate substituted for Cherokee today. The tots really love her. She and Lizzie hung out with them while I (Arielle) left to do Kinder Blossom. When I arrived back around 10:40, they were already eating lunch. Just like yesterday, they were hungry early and had no problem eating before they usually do.

After some friends woke up from nap, I took the half of the group who was up and ready to play (Wynn, Sophie, Olive, and Clara) over to the tables to do play-doh, while Cate hung out with the nappers and quite wakers and sleepers (Gage, Noah, Genevieve, and Ancel.) Once everybody was up we played with bubbles and had a dance party thanks to Wynn’s Cuban music cd he gave to the class. Everybody was either wiggling their hips or bouncing to the music.

At 3:00 we sat down for snack and welcomed Leona into our classroom. We enjoyed her songs and thought that the new ones she brought today (one about chocolate and another about healthy habits) were fun and exciting.

After Leona left we went back outside to the deck. There, Sophie and Ancel rode rocking horses, Gage played on the drum, Noah searched for balls (we found a bag full of the out there), Olive let everybody know that she was happy (“happy! Happy!”), Wynn and Clara played with a rack installed to the wall with cool objects hanging from it, and Genevieve explored the entire deck.

At 4:00 we went to the backyard and listened to Dom read Where the Wild Things Are. We also blew more bubbles and watched the primary friends chase each other. It’s been a beautiful day! We miss you, Cherokee!
