Ice Cream Social

Happy Weekend All! I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather! Friday was another wonderful spring day at Green Sprout! In the morning Liz came in and made coconut milk ice cream with the kids. Each child received a small ziplock bag filled with all the ingredients and this baggy was placed inside of a big ziplock bag that had ice and rock salt in it. The children then shook the bags to thicken the mixture. In the afternoon we ate the ice cream for snack. It was delicious! 

Our friends have been very loving recently. Today Genevieve, Sophie, Tula and Wynn all gave each other lots and lots of hugs. We have been talking a lot about sharing lately, and today Genevieve and Wynn  shared a sweet moment reading a book together. Outside Kai had a great time playing in the sensory table which was filled with water and soap. The children added some sand, and Kai enjoyed putting his hands in the water and feeling the sand at the bottom. He was very focused and engaged. Wynn took a big shovel and scooped up water and carefully poured it into a dump truck. Hunter played with her brother, as always holding her own with the older kids. Hunter is doing a great job using her words to communicate with her classmates if they do something that she doesn't like. It was so nice to have such beautiful weather yesterday, and the teachers took advantage of it with as much outside time as possible!
