Hello, Families! I hope everyone is having a great week so far! We worked a lot on listening with our ears today. We sang songs and read lots of stories. During circle time we brought out some instruments, such as our little "piano," drums and shakers. First I demonstrated the different noises and notes that the instruments make and then I passed them to the children. Miles and Ronav enjoyed rocking out on the piano while Julia drummed away. Livio took a shaker and played along. We sang twinkle twinkle and Cherokee played it for us on the piano. The children really love music and every time they hear a song they bounce up and down. Playing music together and listening to the different instruments was a fun way for them to see that they can make music too. In the afternoon Ms. Cherokee led a little Spanish class in which she read a book about the different things that babies need. Miles had already requested this book multiple times today, and everyone was happy to hear it again. As books and songs are repeated over and over the children start to really engage with the material--they start singing the songs along with us or pointing out familiar pictures and naming objects in their favorite books. Have a great night! <3 Magdalen
