Hello Pre-tot families! I don’t know if you guys already knew this, but I was out sick with the flu last week which is why I wasn’t there.  I have been taking extra precautions today and washing the kiddos hands as well as my own constantly today. I feel better but I didn’t want to take any chances, especially with these little guys. The flu is going around really bad this year so just be careful. On a more positive note I am so happy to be back with our kiddos and in better health.

It was a very cold morning so we began our day indoors. Jackson took interest in a big Target truck that was pulling into the Target unloading area. He stood at the window and stared at the truck for about 5 minutes. Olive and I looked at the weather chart and then looked outside to see what the weather was like. This morning’s forecast was cloudy, so Olive got to put up the cloudy label. Ancel built a tower using the big cardboard blocks and got a kick out of it when they all fell. Genevieve, Wynn, and Sophie played with some playdoh and practiced rolling and cutting it.

Shortly after, we all washed hands and got ready to eat our morning snack. As all the kiddos were eating Miss Arielle began to go over the days of the week and sing our days of the week song. Afterwards we all put on our coats and got nice and cozy to go and spend some time playing in the backyard.

Sophie loved pushing around the baby stroller; she did get frustrated when it would get stuck, but she soon figured out how to work around it. Jackson also got a turn to push the baby stroller. Wynn and Olive spent some time cuddling with Miss Arielle. Ancel and Genevieve worked as a team pouring sand into one of the pumpkin buckets in the sandbox. A little while later we were joined by our friend Noah! Noah scooped up some mulch that was in one of the sensory tub and poured it on the ground.

Later, we all headed back inside to get warm and get ready for lunch. During lunch we talked about the types of food each of them had. Afterwards, they all got some fresh diapers and were patted to sleep.

Once we got up from nap we put on some of Wynn’s Cuban mix and had a little dance party. Genevieve, Jackson, Wynn and Noah all got down and started dancing and shaking their little booties. Then we all got ready to eat our afternoon snack.

After snack our yoga teacher, Miss Abby, joined us for a small session of yoga songs and movement. Miss Abby showed our kiddos how to do a butterfly stretch and had a song to go with it. Our kiddos did so great sitting down and listening; they all watched her in Awe. Once Miss Abby left we had our circle time. We usually do circle time in the morning; however, we got a little side tracked and forgot. During circle time we talked about some of the body parts that we learned about last week and this week such as head, eyes, nose and ears. The kiddos love pointing at their own body parts. Afterwards, we put on coats and shoes and ended our day in the backyard.

Tomorrow we will learn about ears and practice listening for sounds that we hear inside and outside our classroom.

See you guys tomorrow!
