We had an excellent Wednesday at the Sprout! Today we talked even more about babies and mommies! The children are really learning their signs for "mama" and "baby." During circle time we read another book about baby animals. "Baby Talk" is a popular book right now with the pretots so we read it several times throughout the day. During circle time we took turns rocking, patting and hugging the baby dolls. We also sang them "Rock-a-by baby." Genevieve brought in some pictures of her and her mom, and we had fun sharing them with the class. After circle time we headed back outside where the toddlers were working on a large painting on a piece of butcher paper that was taped to the wall. They were using twigs, mulch and leaves as paint brushes. A few of the pretots were interested in painting, and they had a great time adding colors. Hunter was particularly focused in her efforts to paint with a small twig. The painting turned out really lovely! After nap Mr. Mike came in because Ms. Ashley had to leave early. As always, the kids were excited to see him! Our afternoon project consisted of using gluesticks to glue pictures of mommies and babies to a pieces of construction paper. Some of the children also colored on their collages. I hope everyone is having a fabulous evening! <3 Magdalen
