Hello friends, we have been having a great day so far here in the pre-tot room. We started our morning outside on the playground with all of our friends from other classrooms and enjoyed some free-play.

While on the playground I had the opportunity to read all of our friends a book called “Oops” which is a sesame street book about little accidents that may occur on a daily basis. After reading the book I asked some of our friends how we can help each other when we have an accident and some of the primary kids responded which was great modeling for our younger friends. Olive wanted to read the book several times over, which I was more than happy to do; I love how enthusiastic she is when it comes to reading books. Sophie took a lot of interest as well and spent some time looking at all the pictures in the book.

Wynn spent some time playing on the playscape and I was very impressed when he went down the slide all by himself. We also welcomed Gage back who has been out these past two days! He has been having such an awesome morning!

After playing on the playground for a while it was time to head in for snack and circle time. During snack we sang the “Days of the Week” song and went over the date and counted up to 7. We also looked outside to see what the weather was like. After snack and diaper changes, we all headed to the big blue carpet for circle time. During circle time we sang the “Hello” song and “Old McDonald” and this time he had a pig on his farm because today we introduced the animal pig. We showed pictures of pigs and then made the sound that pigs make. Once we were done with circle time we all headed out to the deck.

On the deck we explored shaving crème. All of our kiddos loved this activity, especially Noah; he stayed with it the longest. Hunter spent most of her time playing with the big red bouncy ball and kept handing it to Arielle or myself to bounce it high. Ancel was practicing how to open and close a plastic container we have on the deck. He was frustrated at first, but once I showed him how to open and close it he got the hang of it. After playing on the deck for a little while, we all headed in for lunch and nap.

During lunch they are continuing to learn how to stay in their chairs while they eat, and they are all doing an excellent job. They are also learning how to tell us when they are “All done” by signing to us; this has been going really well too.

After nap we will have snack and Jackson from the infant room will be joining us for a play-date. Then we will get ready for Miss Leona who will be singing some Spanish songs to us, and maybe she’ll want to read one of our Spanish books titled “Quiero Un Beso!” This translates to “I want a Kiss!” Afterwards, we will do some art using markers. Doing art using the same type of media over and over is essential to help teach them how to use the art utensils properly, so you may want to practice with them at home.

Tomorrow we will continue to learn about pigs. We will also explore playdoh and use chalk for our art.

See you guys tomorrow!
