Hello friends! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I’m sad to report that we couldn’t be joined by all of our friends this morning; one of our little tots was sick over the weekend with walking pneumonia. He may be back with us tomorrow if he is feeling better, so we are all praying that he gets well soon.

On another note, we have been having a great start to our day. Today we stated our morning in the backyard with some free-play. It was a very chilly morning and it was nice to see all of our little guys bundled up nice and warm. Shortly after playing outside for a little while, we all headed inside for snack and circle time.

During circle time we all sang the “Hello” song and looked at pictures of chickens and made chicken sounds. We also did the hand sign for chicken which you do by simply pointing your index finger into your palm. Olive loved doing this.

Afterwards, we all headed out to the deck to play with some soap bubbles. Miss Arielle even added a few drops of green food coloring to make it more appealing. Noah was the first one to stick his hand in the soapy water and splash around creating more bubbles. Despite the chilly weather, all of our little guys took turns splashing the green soapy water around. Shortly after, we all headed back inside where it was warm and spent some time playing in our newly remodeled play area.

It makes me so happy to see how much our kiddos love the new play area. Once we were inside, they all had an area that they were attracted to. Ancel spent some time rocking on the rocking horse; he seemed to be having a blast on it. Olive and Sophie played with some of the musical toys in our music area; they seemed to be forming a small band. Hunter played with the rainbow xylophone for a little while before moving on to something else. Then Ancel, Sophie and Olive all went to go look at the family portraits on the wall and pointed out their family members. Clara spent some time rocking on the rocking horse after Ancel got off. Noah spent some time reading a Curious George book with me titled “Are You Curious?” Then Miss Arielle read a book to all of our friends titled “Eyes & Nose, Fingers & Toes.” Shortly after it was time for lunch and nap.

In the afternoon we will be reading “Barnyard Dance” by Sandra Boynton. Then we will let them enjoy some more free-play and give them the option to do some art.

Tomorrow we will be introducing the animal sheep, and gluing cotton balls onto paper to make a sheep.

See you guys tomorrow!
