Picture day!!!

What a Monday! We definitely started this week with a bang. All the kiddos looked super awesome and ready to take pictures. It was definitely quite the task to keep them as neat as possible, but hey, kids will be kids, and kids definitely get dirty, lol. I would honestly say that we did a pretty good job considering it was kind of muddy outside this morning from the rain over the weekend. We wanted the playground to look nice for the pictures so I spent some time raking up some of the dried up leaves from the sandbox and around the playground. Some of the primary kiddos helped me with this task along with my fellow co-workers. Arielle had taken 3 of our lil tots inside to start snack while she let me finish raking up some of the leaves.

When I came in to join her, Ancel, Olive and Wynn were drawing with pink markers, crayons and pencils. Hunter was still eating snack and Sophie was playing with some pink play-doh Miss Arielle had set out for her. As some time had passed Ancel, Hunter, Olive and Wynn joined in on the play-doh fun with Sophie. Afterwards, we all sat in a circle to do our circle time and sang the “Hello Song,” and “The Wheels on the Bus.” We also introduced the color pink and showed them things in the room that had pink along with some of our peers who also wore pink today!

Once we were finished with circle time we all headed outside for our BIG event of the day; CLASS PICTURES!!! It was so much fun to have our little guys sit down on a bench and take pictures as a class. It definitely took me back in time and brought back memories of when I was in elementary and took class pictures. Miss Toni also joined in our class picture and held little Ancel while I held Wynn and Hunter, and Miss Arielle held Olive. Miss Arielle wanted to hold Sophie as well, but she was more interested in sitting on the bench; she definitely enjoys her independence, lol. After taking class pictures we spent the remainder of the morning exploring and playing in the backyard. Our photographer, Kevin, took lots of pictures of the kiddos as they were playing. We were all so caught up in the moment of him taking pictures that we forgot to take some of our own. So I apologize for not having that many pictures from today.

In the afternoon, we spent some more time drawing and coloring with pink and playing with the pink play-doh. We are still trying to teach some of our kiddos that we do not eat the play-doh even though it looks very tempting, lol. Arielle and I are actually thinking about making some homemade play-doh that is edible, so that way if they should put it in their mouth it won’t be that big a deal. We will let you guys know when we decide to do this.

Once we were all done with the play-doh and the pink colors, we all helped to clean up our mess. They are all getting so much better at helping pick up after themselves; before you know it all we’ll have to do is say “Clean up Time!” We then put our sunscreen and bug spray on, and headed out the door to go outside.

Tomorrow we will continue learning about the color pink and painting with pink paint. For sensory we will be playing with bubbles! I hope everyone is having a great start to their week, we’ll see you guys tomorrow!

Oh, and by the way, our new friend Noah will be joining our class tomorrow!!! He was sick over the weekend so he wasn’t able to come today, but his mom has let us know that he will be here tomorrow, so if you see him be sure to say hi!

***Kevin will be back tomorrow to take more pictures as well as an entire school pi
