Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week thus far. Today we focused our lesson on the color purple. During circle time we read a few different stories associated with colors and pointed out the colors in our friends outfits. Our friends are getting very good at recognizing and pronouncing the different colors of the rainbow. They are still very interested in learning about colors and pointing out objects associated with a specific color. If you are interested in helping them continue to learn about colors at home a good activity is just to fill a basket with many objects of the same color and talk about them together. For our art activity we worked with stamps. We passed out different colors of paper and discussed the names of the colors and then we passed out stamps and pads and gave examples of how to press our stamps. Everyone really enjoyed the activity. After a while they were able to change stamps with their friends. In the afternoon we had yoga with a very nice substitute for Abbey. She pulled out different animals from a bag and allowed the students to guess what they were. After, she asked them what sound they made and then we all practiced the pose for that animal. I hope that everyone is enjoying this rain as much as I am. I know that our garden at Green Sprout will sure appreciate it! Xoxo sandy
