Cherokee returned from her vacation today! Hooray! Clara, Olive, Ancel, and Wynn were also here today, and Arielle. We all met up on the playground except for Ancel, who arrived when we came in for snack. We went over the calendar while they ate and then we broke into two small groups to read books. Clara picked out Eyes, Mouth, Fingers, Toes, and I read it to her and Wynn. Cherokee read an ABC book to Olive and Ancel.

We went on the deck with a bucket of water for them to play with. Olive scooped it over and over for a very long time. Wynn splashed in it. Suddenly the toddlers arrived to do a car wash! The pre-tots watched them dirty up the “cars” (bikes) and wash them with a sponge and water. Clara squeezed the sponge and watch the water pour out. Ancel scrubbed the ground and a few cars. Wynn was curious as to how the sponges taste, and Olive continued to play with her scoop and bucket of water.

Ancel decided to push a car around for a little while, but returned to the sponges eventually. Clara loved getting the sponges wet, but switched to dragging buckets around afterwards. When Olive was done with the bucket of water and scoop, she rocked herself on the eggplant that had been freshly cleaned by some toddlers. Wynn walked all over the deck checking out what others were doing, and Clara and Ancel eventually met up and looked at potted plants together. Later on Clara scrubbed the water table with a big scrub brush.

After nap, we had diaper changes and snack. We ate some avocado and cherry tomatoes. Clara LOVES her avocado! Once we were finished with snack we washed up and got ready for Spanish with Leona. As we finished singing the “Emotions” song in Spanish, Ancel and Clara both pointed to pictures of some of the emotions on Leona’s poster board.
