Short week

1/4/2013

Today we began our morning a little late due to weather conditions. I think some of our friends were a little thrown off by the late start this morning and also still trying to get back into the routine of things since the break. I think once all of my friends have experienced a full week they will get back into the groove of things.

After all of our friends arrived we spent some time playing in centers and looking at books. Miss Cate read “Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs!” Then we all sat down and drew with markers on construction paper.

Soon after, it was time for lunch so all of my friends washed their hands and took a seat. During luch we went over the days of the week and sang our days of the week song. Afterwards, we talked about the weather and how the rain was a little bit icy this morning because it was so cold. We aslo talked about elephants and practiced making elephant sounds. We showed the kiddos how we use our arm as an elephant trunk while making the sound.

In the afternoon we will play with some New Years Horns and play in centers. If the weather permits, we may go outside for a little while; otherwise we will just stay inside and maybe go explore some of the other rooms.

Have a great weekend everyone!
