Sunny & Cloudy Weather!!!

Hello Tulip Fams!

What crazy weather we have been having! It kind of reminds me of that Katy Perry song "Hot 'n Cold," this weather just cannot make up its mind!!! LoL.

On Monday we used toilet paper rolls and cut slits into them to create a Sun effect. Our little tulips got to dip them in yellow and orange paint and stamp them on paper to create little suns. We also got to do yoga with Miss Anne. She started off with the "Rub your Hands" song and then taught our little yogis a new song called "Ring around the Yogi" sung to the tune of "Ring around the Rosy."

Tuesday we had a snow day.

On Wednesday we added some clouds to our painted suns we had created on Monday by gluing cotton balls to it. We went around the table and gave each of our little tulips some cotton balls. We then showed them how we dip the cotton into the bowl of glue and then pat the cotton onto the paper. Miss Daphne also joined us in the afternoon and did a Spanish activity using colors and numbers. She brought in two puzzles; one with colored fish, and the other with colored numbers. Each of our kiddos took turns placing a puzzle piece back to its proper place.

On Thursday we did an activity to help prepare for our Chinese New year potluck celebration! Phew! Since the color red is a symbol of good fortune or good luck, we used red paper and had our kiddos decorate them with markers. We then stapled them into a cylinder shape and tied a string on it to create a paper lantern for our outside decor during the potluck. In the afternoon our Spanish teacher,  miss Daphne, joined us and did an activity using our little kitchen area. She named all the different fruits and vegetables in the little red basket and handed them to each of our kiddos. She also pretended to drink tea and asked each kiddo to pour some tea into her cup.

On Friday we began our morning with some music and dancing! Then one of our primary class friends, Dax, brought his Dragon kite to share with the school. It was very windy outside, so we all helped trying to get the kite to go up. It was no easy task due to the tail being so long, but that didn't stop us from trying! Our little tulips watched as we attempted to get the kite going. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful in the morning, but in the afternoon we tried again and got it to go up!

Next month we will be doing shapes.

Have a great weekend!

Luke was pointing out the sun all week! He also likes to talk about the wind from last week :) It is so amazing how quickly they are all learning at this age.
