Welcome BAck!!!

Welcome back everyone! I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday and I am so happy to see all of my little friends once again!

It was a little chilly this morning so we stayed inside and played with all of our older friends from the other classrooms. Genevieve, Gage and Clara were the first ones to arrive this morning so they got to play in the toddler room with the toddlers. Clara picked up one of the baby dolls and began carrying it around everywhere she went. She also pushed it in the little baby stroller. Gage spent some time exploring the entire toddler room. First he was at the lego station, then he played for a bit in the puzzle station. He also followed Ben around the room and was picking up everything Ben would play with; it was very cute. Genevieve sat down and listened to Miss Cate as she read a book from the toddler room. Shortly after, Miss Jackie joined us and had everyone sit down to read a special book that one of our toddler friends brought in to share. All of our friends sat and listened as she read “The Wheels On The Bus.”

Afterwards, we all headed back to our room to have snack. During snack we talked about how we are now starting a new year and how each year begins with the month January. We then went over the days of the week and sang our song. Then we counted the days and said today’s date. Then we were joined by Olive and Wynn who showed up just in time to join us for some snack. After snack we all sat in a circle and sang the Hello song. Then we looked at pictures of elephants and tried making elephant sounds; I wasn’t very good at this.

Later, we all put on our coats and headed outside for some playtime. Ancel and Noah joined us while we were outside. Ancel, Gage, Noah and Wynn spent some time playing in the sandbox and pouring sand into small containers. Olive had a blast being spun around by Miss Cate. One of our friends wasn’t feeling to well today so I went inside with them and let them lay on their nap mat.

Afterwards, everyone headed inside for lunch and to get ready for nap. After nap we plan on looking at a special book on animals that Ancel brought in to share. Then we will be getting ready for Miss Leona who will be coming in to sing Spanish songs with us. Later, if time permits, we will make some art using paper confetti and glue.

Tomorrow we will be using markers for art and experimenting with New Years horns for our sensory experience.
