Wonderful Wednesday!!!

Hello Pre-tot families!!! We are having a splendid day here at the sprout with lots of exploring and activities to fill our day. The weather was a little humid this morning and I spotted a few mosquitos lurking around our playground so I made sure to put lots of insect repellent on our little guys.

We started the morning off by exploring what different types of plants we have in our garden. I helped Olive harvest some okra from the okra plant; those things are not very easy to pick. Once I pulled them out I let Ancel and Olive examine them. Ancel actually managed to rip one open which was shocking since they were super hard. Olive was only interested for a little while and then decided to go find something else to do. Once Ancel and Olive had their turn I let Wynn and Hunter explore the properties of the okra. Wynn definitely didn’t hesitate to taste the okra, however once he tried it he found out very quickly how much he didn’t like it, (LoL) his face was priceless. Hunter seemed to really enjoy peeling apart the one Ancel cracked open. Once they had their fill (not literally) of the okra, they found other things to explore and do on our playground.

Wynn did THE CUTEST thing ever this morning. He stepped inside one of the hula hoops laying on the ground and began spinning himself in a circle several times and then plopped down on his bottom. It was so funny because he did this several times in a row.

Hunter is getting so good at climbing the big playscape outside! It is so great watching her learn how to hold on to the railing while trying to climb the stairs. It’s also funny because when trying to climb the smaller but longer stairs on the playscape, she stretches her legs really wide when trying to put a foot on the step and holding on at the same time (LoL).

After playing outside for a while, we came in and did some more exploring, but this time it was with some homemade sensory boards that some of our teachers from the baby room made. On the sensory boards we have a door knocker an empty container, a sponge, some wool with foam inside, some plastic connectors with a small sensory book attached, and a shaggy cloth. Olive was really into it for a while; she stayed there for a good 5 minutes exploring all the different things on it. The other kiddos decided to play with some of the other toys we have in our room. Then we did some reading and all the kiddos got to pick out a book to read.

In the afternoon we had Spanish with Miss Leona!!! She brought in some bells for one of the songs and the kiddos loved it! Ancel was having a ball and was ringing that bell as if he were Paul Revere saying, “The British are coming, the British are coming!” Except it sounded more like “AAhh YAaaaYA!” (LoL). Once Miss Leona left we said “Adios” and waved goodbye.

We ended our day with a little inside free-play and played some fun toddler music in which I did a funny little dance to entertain the kiddos. I wish I knew what they were thinking because Ancel and Hunter were laughing and Wynn and Olive just stared at me with a big smile; they were probably thinking, “This lady is nuts! But we’ll just smile and nod.”

All-in-all, it has been a FANTASTIC DAY!!!

***REMINDER:

·         Due to licensing, all sippy cups and other belongings of the kiddos must have their first full name & their last name initial. I’m really sorry if this causes any inconvenience but we will get cited for any little thing that isn’t “Perfect” :/

·         Please bring in family portraits if you haven’t already

Thank you guys for being the amazing parents you are!!!

I just might have to invest in a hula hoop so I can see this trick of Wynn's first hand! We practiced jumping this evening and I got a huge kick of seeing how happy he was to try to jump off the ground like me. ;) Thanks again for the great blog!
