11/01/12 The Day After Halloween

11/6/2012

Thursday was a very active day for our friends. With it being the day after Halloween many of our friends were excited to tell everyone their stories of what they did, but at the same time many of our friends were a little tired from it too and it showed early in the day that they needed a good nap. Outside drop off was fun with Leina and Paige finding eye patches they wore on their foreheads which gave them magic powers. Their favorite game right now was chase, so that was nicks favorite game for the remainder of our outside time.
We had snack outside because it was a lovely day and had a small group, and it also gave nick a reprieve from chase for a little bit.
We spent most of the morning outside and let everyone use up their energy and excitement from the holiday. We stayed outside long enough that once we went in there was only time enough for a circle time then we got ready for lunch. We skipped story time because everyone was showing they were far too tired to sit through a story, so we all plopped down for nap on time and took extra time to wake up. We got everyone at the snack table by three, quite a bit later than normal. Everyone was still a bit groggy so we hurried with snack and did a bit of dramatic play to wake them all up for Spanish. We headed in for Spanish after a bit of activity which seemed to help. We made Dia de Los muertos masks they coloured and glued on a Popsicle stick. We were very surprised with how well everyone did, Leina even made two. After getting some great rest and having a great Spanish class everyone got their shoes on and we headed outside for our afternoon pick up with everyone in great spirits.
