Thursday
It was the first day back from winter break and everyone was really excited to catch up. Due to other schools still being closed we had some old students like Zoe Meyers and Maggie drop in. We stayed outside for a bit to let everyone play together. Rhys took an interest in a pre tot, olive, and walked around the playground holding hands for a while finally ending up at the sandbox. Paige was investigating some moss that she found growing on one of the logs and had a debate about what it was with her sister Zoe. While most of the primary class was busy constructing thing in the sand box, Leina and Maggie took some time to hangout by themselves. Today was also Jasper and Joeys first official day in the primary class and they didn't miss a beat in the transition. We went inside for snack and went well over our normal amount of time we have for snack because everyone was still in the mood to socialize about what they did over the break. We played a few games during snack such as eye spy and it was unanimously agreed that we shall do art immediately after the class was dismissed from the table, and it was so. After some amazing drawings and artistic expressions we had lunch then a story read by our sub Kenny and then it was time for a much needed nap. Once everyone was up and had their nap mats folded we sat down at the big table for afternoon snack which was whole grain pasta. We listened to stories Zoe and Maggie told about their schools and everyone seemed impressed with the idea of moving on to kindergarten and first grade. Before Spanish class we played a game of Simon says to quickly get everyone on the big carpet so we could talk about the new month we are in. The thought that we are in a new year was amazing for some and not a big deal for others. After talking about the idea of having different years it was time for Spanish. Miss Leona had a great Spanish class, and everyone was very excited to sing their favorites such as the wakeup song. After one of the most captivating classes I've seen we bundled up to go outside for a bit until the temperature drops too low.
