A Farewell to miss Mo

Today was our friend Maureen's last day, so in keeping with our traditional send off, we let Mo choose what she wanted to do today.
Coming in from outside drop off, we talked about the food pyramid and healthy foods we can eat to build a strong body. We identified fruits, vegetables, proteins, and grains, with the most interest in fruits and vegetables. Once we talked about the food pyramid Lizzie handed out some sheets with different types of foods such as fish, eggs, dairy, fruits and veggies our friends could identify and colour.
For a surprise right before our outside activities we had a school wide fire drill. An alarm went off and our friends counted off in line and grabbed the shoulders of the friends in front of them and we headed outside. We had another roll call on e outside and talked about the importance of fire safety. After our fire drill we talked about severe weather and dangerous things like tornadoes and hurricanes. The wizard of oz came up a few times in response to tornadoes, and some friends even wanted to be in a tornado. Maya and colette pretended to be firefighters and rescuing everyone in the playscspe from fire.
Our lunch time conversation mainly consisted of what was in our lunches and identifying where each food goes in the pyramid. Everyone ate their lung very quickly so we had a little extra time before nap, so all our friends piled on the couch and nick read three stories too them. Everyone sat for all three stories which doesn't happen often.
Following nap and snack Mo offered swirl Popsicles she brought for the whole class, and we talked about sugar is only ok for your body sometimes. Following the lovely treat Mo brought for the class she wanted to do dramatic play with all her friends. So we brought out all of our computer keyboards, headphones, costumes, and other thing our friends love to play with. We all gave Mo lots of love before we went outside for outdoor exploration and the end of our day.
