A Special Surprise for Wednesday

Outside drop of seemed like the highlight of everyone's day, Lizzie and nick almost couldn't get any of our friends to get off the dome climber to go inside. "One more minute" ten minutes later and we were ready to go inside. We had a few grumpy drop offs but Dax and Miya were eager to help out non-morning friends cheer up.
Following snack we talked about differences between each other and what makes people special. Most answers for why you are special revolved around "because my mommy and daddy love me". Our friends noticed the differences in our friends such as girl-boy, tall-short, and color of clothes. Then we had all of our friends line up agains the wall and Tristan put everyone in order from shortest to tallest. Then our friend Zoey arranged everyone by shortest hair to longest hair.
After our guides activity we opened up our stations for independent exploration in the classroom. Dax became a foreman and instructed Rhys and Tristan to construct a transformer house, which was destroyed and rebuilt 3 times. Zoey, Caden, and Miya worked together and explored magic foam and moonsand. For the next twenty minutes our friends rotated between stations with most of our friends ending in the art and writing centers.
Following lunch and nap we had a very special guest, miss Liz came to our class and instructed a great yoga class which turned into a safari and the yoga mats turned into kayaks. After our safari the kids asked to do meditation with Liz and so everyone laid on their mats and closed their eyes and focused on their breathing. We spent some time talking to Liz and getting hugs from her the. Headed outside for our pick up time.
