A Warm Friday in Winter 11/30

12/3/2012

We had great weather to start our Friday morning. Everyone was quite content playing in little groups today. Dax and Tristan were hold up in the mini playscape debating over which Legos who's Legos were stronger. While across the backyard Paige, Colette, and Leina were engrossed in the sensory table. Any time it is filled with water, the sensory table is a favorite among everyone. We headed in for snack. Afterwards our kinderblossom pupils left with miss Arielle while the rest of us went back outside to dance to some yo GABA GABA with the rest of the school. Nick played "prison guard" with the class, which consists of everyone inside the dome, or prison, trying to escape without getting tagged. This has become a new favorite game for our primary class. Maya and Leina are the masters at this game, even if tagged they never seem to go back to jail.
We hung out with the entire school until it was time for lunch and the end of our GABA GABA party.
It was business as usual during lunch, and at the end everyone cleaned up the area with dust pans and spray bottles so it looked just like it did before we started.
Tristan was our story picker and he was adamant about picking "The trouble with dragons". With the conclusion of our book nap time began.
Waking up, we rolled our nap mats up, and sat down for afternoon snack. After everyone had their fill we washed our bowls with soap and water and worked in our stations until music with Jackie started at 3:30. Jackie had two parts to her music session today, the first was in the classroom where she sang songs such as old macdonald had a farm and got the class to sing with her. The second part of her session was making little maracas outside and filling them with sand or little rocks found on the playground. Afterwards we decorated them with stickers and sang a song with them.
After music some kids wanted to keep their new musical instrument with them outside while others wanted to keep them safe and go put them in their cubbies. This marked the beginning of outside pickup and the end of another great Friday. We played a lot if outside games during drop off today, Lizzie played red light green light with everyone and nick played a lot more jailer until 6pm.
