A Wednesday of Pumpkins and Spider Webs

We are all so excited that Halloween is approaching so quickly!  Today we continued to focus on decorating our classroom for our Halloween party!

This morning everyone acted as if we were spiders and climbing on the dome as our "spider web"!! All the kiddos really loved to pretend they had eight legs and see how high they could climb on the dome.

During snack Miss Toni came to visit our classroom and showed us all the super cool things she got for our Halloween party next week! All the kiddos were really excited to help decorate The Sprout for this party.  She also introduced us to a new game she had for us to play.

For our arts and crafts project this morning, we painted Jack O Lanterns!  While we painted we discussed what shapes we saw in the Jack O Lanterns.  We also went around the table and shared stories of going to the pumpkin patch!!

Once we finished up with our Jack O Lanterns, everyone met at the carpet for circle time.  During circle time we discussed what everyone was going to be for Halloween.  We then split in two groups; one group played the new game with Nick, and the other group drew pictures of themselves in their costumes with Lizzie.

When we wrapped up group activities, we then focused our attention to independent exploration of the classroom centers.  Colette, Dax, Tristan and Ryse immediately went to the construction center to start building with blocks.  Leina, Miya, and Paige took time to share their ideas and write in the writing center.  Zoey and Maya wanted to put their smocks back on and continue to paint in the arts and crafts center.

We then went back outside to continue to spin our web of thoughts and creative energy on the dome climber!!

After lunch and nap time we woke up and decided it would be a great idea to make our own piece to a spider web to make as one big Primary web!! The kiddos still wanted to paint so we continued with the painting of pumpkins!  We quickly got washed up and ready for Spanish!

Mrs. Leona was very impressed with all the kiddos ability to remember all the words to the new songs we have been introduced to!

After Spanish all the kiddos still had a lot of energy so we played a game where we acted like what we are going to be for Halloween and the other kiddos guessed.  We then all took turns playing with the new "tornado machine" Nick made for our science center.  Once everyone had a turn we lined up to go outside for afternoon pickup!

We all had such a  fantastic day here at the Sprout and cant wait to continue the fun tomorrow!
