A wet and rainy Tuesday

The rain sure can't stop us from having fun!  This morning we started off the day playing with play-doh.  Joey, Jasper, Maya, Leina, and Colette really enjoy cutting play-doh with new stencils so graciously donated by Teo's family.  We cleaned up the lay=doh and headed to centers while we waited for the rest of our friends to arrive.  Once all of our friends got to school we cleaned up and had snack.
During circle time we discussed our unit for the month and our theme for the week.  We discussed our families.  Each kiddos had a chance to tell everyone what their idea was family was.
After circle we came to the table for an art project.  We painted a picture of our families doing a fun activity together.  All the kiddos really loved discussing what they were painting and discovering that some of our families like to do the same activities for fun!
After our art project we had more time to explore in our classroom centers.  Dax, Rhys, Jasper, and Joey enjoyed playing the the construction center while Colette, Leina, Paige and Maya enjoyed practicing writing their names in the writing center.  We then came to a table as a group and played a game with marbles.  We made goals and each kiddo found a partner to try and roll the marble into other peoples goals.  We kept tally of the goals we made. All the kiddos really excelled in aiming the marble towards the goal using concentration.
This afternoon Miss Abby graced us with her presence once again for yoga.  The Shining Stars were really anxious to get their bodies moving after a day spent inside.  We did a breathing exercise using feathers and continued to learn songs to sing while we do our stretches.
The rain can't stop our fun here in the Primary room! :)

Be safe out there on the wet roads!

Much Love, Lizzie
