TUESDAY:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZZIE!!! :)

Given this week we are focusing on the Letter C, we started our day checking on the toddlers hermit Crab, Bruno! They showed much interested in his shell, and pinchers.

We worked on some Letter C activities, before heading outside to Color the play scape with CHalk.

After nap, we had a family meeting, everyone wishing Ms Lizzie a happy, happy birthday!!
They each worked either in the construction center, or on birthday cards for Lizzie before we split for Yoga.

We then made our way outside to enjoy the beautiful, breezy afternoon.
WEDNESDAY:

A very work oriented day. We broke up into montessori work centers/snack.
Sophie worked on the spindle counting activity, while Addie worked with the knobbed cylinders. Hank
also worked with the knobbed cylinders, but they were sized largest to smallest by width.

We then broke up into groups, while kinder blossom joined ms arielle at the table. Each friend took their turn, practicing writing the letter C on a dry erase board, then we marched outside to practice Catching balls. everyone lined up as we took turns tossing and Catching the ball to each other.

THURSDAY:
Ms Arielle sat on the carpet, while Olive, Addie, Miya, and Ben worked quietly on montessori works. Ms Jenn was reading books on the carpet, before we broke up into groups.

Today during our Group work, we incorporated Spanish pronunciation and recognition.

Ms Daphne arrived after nap, this week she worked on Colors!

FRIDAY:

SNOW DAY!!! we enjoyed this Friday at home, snuggled up!

Ms Colette worked with the first group as ms Lizzie worked with the second. Bringing out Jenga blocks with different poses to try, on them. While on the big carpet Colette had our older kids working on some more difficult poses stretching their bodies the most they could.

Finally warm enough to go outside, we started with some art first, before coming out in the beautiful sun, running around warming our bodies.

We had to reschedule yoga this afternoon, but ms Lizzie and ms Arielle came up with some ideas to fill the time. We read some new books, and got ready to head out for the afternoon.

THURSDAY:
Hello and Welcome to the first Thursday of the New Year! Many of our friends arrived, happy to be back, excited to share their vacation stories, and items they received as gifts! We went outside after snack, and discovered new playground toys, which included a new slide/sensory table, new shovels, and fun ping-pong and small orange balls. I set up three buckets behind the play scape and showed them how to "toss" and throw the ball into the buckets! Ivy, Sophie, Colette, Miya, Ben, Asher, Addie, Jasper, Leina, and Maya came to check it out, interested in taking a turn themselves.

Today Ms Daphne
came for Spanish lesson, she introduced NUMEROS (Numbers), which she was happy to see that many of our friends responded and correctly identified the numbers when asked in spanish to locate them. She brought out some cards, with matching puzzle pieces. She would ask who wanted to pick one, and someone would volunteer, she then would count to the number chosen and the picture. We made our way to ten, before she told us Adios, and we made our way outside! It was a great day back!! :)
FRIDAY:
our first dance party friday of the new school year! Everyone was excited as we invited the toddlers to join in, while Jasper asked kindly for a black light dance party with yo gabba gabba! We kindly obliged and jasper and his friends made their way to the carpet.

for cooking project this afternoon we made GUACAMOLE with Chef Mike! He first introduced the ingredients and cooking ware that he used; we passed out bowls and spoons for them to use to mash the avocado. They all sat patiently as Mike called them up to get a few slices of avocado. Once everyone had some in their bowl we passed out lemons, while he went around adding diced tomatoes to their avocado. Lastly, they took their lemon, and squeezed as hard as they could into the bowl, then mixing it all together. It got silent, as everyone took a taste, all enjoying it, even those who were skeptical at first. We thanked Mr Mike as he packed up, washed up, got shoes on and marched outside.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

xo
Dom
