Happy Friday everyone! We started our day off outside with an awesome dance party!  Joey brought in his Jake the Pirate cd to share with everyone. Thanks Joey!!
The Shining Star's decided they wanted to have a picnic outside for morning snack, we also did the Secret Sack outside.  After snack and the Secret Sack we did an outside art project.  It was a collaboration between the Shining Star's and the toddlers.
After nap we quickly cleaned up and had time for centers this afternoon.  Then we headed back outside to finish our day.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy third birthday, Ben! We sang happy birthday to him several times today. We now have only 3-5 year olds in the class!

We explored the letter Ii today (the box, video, and hunt.) Durning circle time Toni read aloud I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean, a library book the toddlers lent us. We loved listening to her fun read aloud!

We enjoyed centers and thought about names for our two new, neon-colored fish that are our newest friends at Green Sprout.

Outside our friends watched Dom and Jackie do a science experiment with sand, shells, and water (what sinks/floats?)

We earned two stickers for a party today! One for a great circle time experience, another for following the lunch-to-nap-transition five-step process beautifully! Great job, Shining Stars!

After nap we celebrated Ben's birthday by throwing a fun snacktime party! Ryan, who taught Spanish yesterday, joined us to sing Feliz Cumpleanos (Happy Birthday) in Spanish while playing his guitar!

See you tomorrow for dance party and cooking Friday!

This morning during snack Miss Colette read her clues for the Secret Sack she brought back today.  Leina guessed a pillow, which was correct! Good job Leina, and Good job Colette for such great clues! During snack this morning we read The Big Red Lollipop, a book that was graciously donated to us by the Tackett family.  After our story we washed bowls, and headed to the carpet for circle time.  Leina asked if she and Maya could lead circle time today, they did a great job as usual.  After circle time we headed to Centers.  Colette, Wren, Hank, Paige, Zoey and Miya enjoyed playing in the Dramatic Play center while Rhys, Joey, Dax, Tristan and Ben played in the Construction center making roads.  Leina and Maya spent their time in the art center making cards.  We all cleaned up Centers so well we earned a sticker for our Rody and Kody party!! Way to go Shining Star’s!

As the kiddos were waking up from nap we got out our binders to practice writing the letter Ii.  Once all of our friends were awake we watched the Ii video and ate snack.

This afternoon we enjoyed Spanish with Mr. Ryan The Shining Stars were so excited that we were going to have Spanish again this week!  They remember all the songs taught to us by Mrs. Leona and absolutely love singing them with Mr. Rand Mr. Nick.

Have a great night everyone, we will see you tomorrow.

Sorry for the lack of photos; I did not have my camera with me for most of the day.

Welcome back! Today we reflected on our long weekend and talked about the letter Ii. We spent lots of time enjoying the wonderful morning weather and spent some time appreciating our garden. Ben had the secret sack. In the afternoon we did yoga with Chelsea.

Happy Friday everyone!  Miss Arielle was out today and we had Mr. Mike sub.  All the kiddos absolutely love him and were very excited when they learned he would be in our class today.  We started out day off outside with a Yo Gabba Gabba dance party.  During snack this morning we did the Secret Sack that Dax brought back.  The item inside the sack was a piggy bank, no one was able to guess the item.

After snack we headed to the carpet for circle time, then Centers.  We had extra time for Centers because we had a quick circle time.

This afternoon as the kiddos were waking up the storm was rolling in.  The Shining Stars loved watching the rain from the windows.  After snack we headed back to Centers to finish our day inside.

Have a great 3 day weekend!  See you Tuesday.

Sorry for not having any pictures to share today; I was experiencing technical difficulties (hey, it happens!) We had so much fun today both inside and outside. We went over the letter Hh and Rhys brought an awesome secret sack item. Circle time involved lots of fun jumping around (during a structured activity) and even some yoga! We enjoyed centers and the brand new art materials Toni brought us (thanks, Toni!) Our new "sitting correctly" diagrams have been working well and the "lunch to nap transition" chart is super effective! After nap we had a special visitor - Ryan! He did a Spanish class with us (and also joined us for yoga on Monday.) What an excellent Thursday. Arielle will be out tomorrow but Mike will be subbing. Have a g

Fabulous Tuesday!

Such a great day! We observes Arielle's ear tube, which fell out this morning (it was in her right ear for over a year and now her ear is healed.) A very exciting moment for her. During snack we went through the Hh box and watched the Hh video. Zoey did the secret sack (a candle) and passed it onto Leina.

Circle time was fun, and afterwards we did centers until lunch (they voted to not go outside and instead do centers.) During that time we went on an Hh hunt throughout the room.

We followed our new "lunch to nap transition" chart,  in which each student followed the five-step process beautifully! What a successful experience! We earned a sticker for a party. Yay!

After nap Abby came to do some yoga. What a fabulous Tuesday!

Happy Monday folks!  We are more than ready to start another fabulous week here at the Sprout.
This week we will be focusing on the letter Hh.
This morning during snack we did the Secret sack which Tristan brought back.  The item in the sack was a jump rope, Miss Maya guessed it correctly. Good job Maya!
After snack and Secret Sack we headed to the carpet for Show and Tell.  Once all of our friends had a turn we got our shoes on and got ready to go back outside.
During lunch we did the Hh box.  Some of the items in our Hh box this week include a hat, a helicopter, a book about Hilda the Hippo, Hank Hayes' name, etc.
During snack this afternoon we read a book all about the letter Hh entitled The H Book.  Once we finished snack we finished another great Monday off with Miss Abby and Nick for some yoga.

See you tomorrow :)

Happy Friday everyone!  What an awesome day we had here in the Shining Star room!  Everyone came to school with a big smile and was ready to party :)
We started our day off with a dance party outside to Yo Gabba Gabba. Joey also brought in a Jake the Pirate cd for us to groove to as well! Thanks Joey!!

After a fabulous dance party outside we headed inside for our cooking project.  Today we made healthy donuts!  We used apple slices, sunflower butter, craisins and cheerios to make our donuts.  Each kiddo received and apple slice and sunflower butter.  We spread the butter on our apple then put the craisins and cheerios on top.  They were super yummy!  This was definitely one of our favorite cooking projects we have done.

This afternoon after nap we got ready for our popcorn and fruit smoothie party for earning 10 stickers as a class!  We gathered at the table to eat our popcorn as we watched Arielle and I make the fruit smoothies.  We used strawberries, blueberries and almond milk.  I big thanks goes out to Miss Toni for letting us use her Magic Bullet to make the smoothies, thanks Toni!! Once we all finished up our smoothies and popcorn we headed to the carpet to play with Rody and Kody.  The Shining Stars were so excited to see them again and couldn't wait to have their turn to bounce on them!

We had an absolute blast today at the Sprout, the perfect way to end a great week and start off our weekend!

Much Love,
Lizzie and Arielle

Daphne joined us again today! We started off our day by doing a little bit of gardening, I'm which we planted the clovers and strawberries that were in our classroom into the garden outside. Then we did the Gg box, watched the Gg video,  and read My Gg Book.

We played in centers for a long time today. We love centers!

After nap we wrote Gg in our binders.

Paige and Maya earned treasure today! We also earned a Rody and Kody smoothie party for tomorrow! GO SHINING STARS!!!

At the end of the day Leina, Maya, and Dax helped Arielle clean the primary room. They received seven compliments from parents and teachers passing through the room. They did an excellent job cleaning and were rewarded with a sticker for treasure.

See you tomorrow for dance party, Rody and Kody party, and cooking with Liz Friday!
