Beads, Bracelets, and Barbie Dolls

The day started off with a little drizzle during our morning outside time, so we didn't know what kind of day to expect. Tuesdays and Thursdays are a smaller class than the rest of the week so we headed inside with our five friends for the day to have some bananas and Cheerios. After snack we had circle time and talked about why water comes out of clouds, and named other types of weather and places you see it around the world. Then we talked about things that remind us of halloween and what we are going to dress up as. With the end of circle time we made our way to the big table an we made beaded bracelets and necklaces. We had an all girl class so this was a big hit with everyone. The only hard part was making all those knots, so Lizzie and nick gave a little assistance to our friends. The skill required to thread the beads took a little time to master but everyone got the hang of it in the end. Once we were done with the beaded jewelry everyone wanted to do some free art, so we headed into the art center and created a few masterpieces. Zoey gave up on art quickly and did a little ballet on the carpet for the class until we were ready to go outside. We got outside late so we made it count. Everyone showed nick their newest moves on the dome climber. We spent all 15 minutes actively climbing around on our new dome.
The end of outside time marked the beginning of lunch so we headed inside to refuel our bodies. After lunch and a good story everyone laid down for a nap. We were amazed with how much everyone slept today. The end of nap is 2:30, then we turn the music off and some lights on which usually wakes our friends up immediately, however everyone slept though the transition and Colette even got up just to say she wanted more sleep and lad back down. By 2:45 everyone was up and in a heavy daze which took some of our snack time to snap out of. By the end of snack everyone was wide awake and ready to get to work. We left the big table and headed into the library with our small group. Leina stood in front of the couch with a piece of chalk and wrote the ABCs on the blackboard. With a few corrections she had the whole alphabet written out. Next it was Colette's turn to write them out and every time she got stuck she pulled a funny voice and asked Leina to help her. Everyone got a turn and all our friends did an amazing job sitting quietly and paying attention to the person at the chalkboard, it was very impressive seeing them help one another learn. After our long library session we broke up into our stations which we usually end our day inside with. We made the most out of the little station time we had then headed outside into the shinning sun with no rain clouds in sight
