Here are photos from September 9-13. We enjoyed new centers and classroom layouts, a fun and involved "Sink or Float" experiment, and closed the week with a cooking project.

We started again, documenting their responses in certain discussions and meetings such as our "sink or float" experiment and cooking project and this is what they had to say :

SINK vs FLOAT

Arielle: What do you think we can put in water that will float?
Paige: "Toy"
Addie: "Pens"

Paige: "What about a pom pom ball?"
Dax: "It'll sink"

Addie: "We can see if legs sink or float!"

Arielle: "What do you think will happen if we put the toy tomato in the water?"
Paige:"Stand up!"
Teo: "It will sink"
Addie: "It will float"
IT FLOATED!!

Arielle: "What do you think will happen if we put the pine cone in the water?"
Addie: "It will sink"
Paige: "float"
Ben: "sink"
Paige: "It floated!"

Arielle: "What do you think will happen if we put the baby toy ring in the water?"
Addie:"it will sink!'
Paige: "it will float"

Arielle: How can we get the rock (which sinks) to float?
Paige: "hold it to make it float"

Great photos! Love the note of Ivy's focus face :) The new materials look very cool, the kiddos clearly dig them. Classroom looks awesome!

The new materials are great - and the kids seem to be loving the new classroom arrangement!
