Creepy Crawly Monday

Happy Monday everyone! We certainly hope everyone had a fun and healthy weekend!  This week we will be focusing on decorating our room for Halloween! YAY!!

This morning as we played outside waiting for our friends to arrive we all spent time searching for bugs to put in our friend Tristan's bug catcher! We searched around the garden, in the sandbox and under rocks.  Tristan was so sweet to let everyone play with his toy!

Once all of our friends arrived we went inside for snack.  During snack time we discussed what our new jobs are going to be for the week!  Our snack this morning consisted of prunes, craisins, and apricots.  Many of our friends had never had prunes before and really enjoyed trying them for the first time!

After calendar, discussing the weather, and singing songs it was time for Show and Tell!!  Zoey brought in a box she decorated with her brother that she keeps coins in,  Tristan brought in his bug catcher that came with tweezers and a net for catching the bugs.  Dax brought in his transformer that turns from a car to an airplane.  Paige brought in a wagon and sunflower sunglasses,  Colette brought in a recorder and even played us a few songs!  Miya brought a book written in Spanish, Leina brought in her My Little Pony which was named Twilight Sparkle.

During snack we all brain stormed and named different types of insects, we discussed what qualities a bug had to have to be considered an insect and spiders did not fall under the insect category.

We then did our science experiment.  We each picked a different color, and we put in water to watch grow into an animal.  As we were watching them morph into different animals we all guessed what animal we were going to see!  As we were waiting for our animals to grow in the water we made ghosts with tissue paper and cotton balls to hang in our classroom! SPOOKY!!  Once we played with our ghosts we made, we had another little circle time top write our 'Daily Notes'.  Once we all discussed our favorite activities from the day we headed outside for afternoon pick up.

Have a great evening! We'll see you tomorrow!!
