Fun in the Sun Friday

Happy Friday everyone!  This week seemed to fly by.
Today we spent most of our time with outdoor exploration :)  Independent exploration outside is a crucial  time for the kiddos to use their imaginations to the fullest.  It is also a way for the kiddos to learn responsibility, sharing, respect towards others and their toys, to be aware of their surroundings in a natural setting.  This morning we hunting for rollie pollies, played soccer with our new goal, played in the sandbox to find crystals, had an amazing dance party, and acted as if we were pirates on a pirate ship searching to whales and dolphins.  Paige and Colette were the leaders in this amazing game. It started off as just the two of them on the pirate ship but soon enough they had every single child and teacher on their ship!  All the toddlers (including Dom and Jackie) were on the pirate ship (the playscape) with the Shining Stars looking for whales and dolphins as we sailed the blue sea!  Colette suggested we make whale noises to help us find more friends who live in the ocean!  After we made it safely to shore we came inside to get ready for lunch.
This afternoon we engaged in a 'Celebration of Love' cooking project led by Miss Lizzie  We used rice cakes, strawberries, and yogurt to make a heart shaped snack!  The Shining Stars absolutely loved decorating their own heart any way they wanted to.  Each and everyone heart was different.

I will be posting pictures soon :)

Have a great weekend everyone! See you on Monday :)
Love, Miss Lizzie
